Well, hello, summer!  We had an amazing Memorial Day weekend with gorgeous weather, a couple of barbeques, late nights outside eating popsicles and watching the boys play, and even a camping trip with some friends.

While I’m very much looking forward to trips to the beach, playing the swimming pool, and watching baseball games over the next few months, I’m definitely anxious for the hot, humid, summer heat from coastal North Carolina.  We’ve been through two summers here already, and I’m not sure if that prepares me or just scares me for what’s to come.  And, even worse, I’ll be in my third trimester expecting a September baby through the thick of it all.

I kept most of my summer maternity clothes that I wore when I lived in southern California (also in my third trimester expecting a September baby in the dry, 110+ degree Mojave Desert heat — remind me not to do this again!), but most of those clothes were dressy since I worked through my entire first pregnancy.  Literally.  As in, I started maternity leave on Monday and had my baby on Tuesday.

I desperately needed a few new pieces of maternity clothing that would be more versatile for the mom-of-two-young-boys job that I have now, and I was thrilled at the chance to review for PinkBlush Maternity!  You might remember the maxi dress that Camille reviewed a couple of months ago?  Well, I’m also convinced that the stretchy maxi skirt material is perfect not just for maternity wear but for postpartum/nursing and even when I’m not pregnant at all!

This Burgundy Striped Maternity Maxi Skirt is amazing!  I love the stretchy material that will no doubt fit in a couple of months when I’m bigger but that I could have easily worn a couple of months ago when I first found out I was expecting.  The panel is wide with great support, and it can be adjusted to make the skirt longer or shorter as needed.  Here are a few other pieces of trendy maternity clothes that I’ve had my eye on:

Tops:  Brown Multi-Colored Fitted Maternity Top

Dresses:  Basic Black Maternity/Nursing Dress

Activewear:  Fuchsia Waistband Maternity Yoga Pants

Bottoms:  Black Maternity Bermuda Shorts

Nursingwear:  Light Grey Button Front Maternity/Nursing Tank Top

Don’t tell my husband, but I’m actually getting so excited thinking about getting pregnant again!  Its not going to be for awhile, because “Little Brother” is only 9 months old, but they say that is the age where babies are just so cute that they make you want to have another!  Totally true.  I’m always thinking of the next great baby name, or the next bedroom arrangements for a family of five instead of four.  There are a lot of things I can’t plan just yet, but one thing I can plan on– I. Will. Be. Huge.  The last time I was pregnant, people could obviously tell when I was still in first trimester.  I’m sure the maternity clothes will come out earlier and earlier with each baby.  While I can’t do much baby shopping until we know if we’re having more boys or a girl, I can definitely do maternity clothes shopping well in advance!

A maternity clothes store I am pretty impressed with is Pink Blush Maternity.  They carry some super cute and trendy styles, often not seen in the maternity department.  I think they have a great selection that would please all sorts of style tastes.  You can find clothing that is form fitting and fashionable, as well as loose and comfortable.  They carry trendy maternity clothes like shirts and jeans suitable for every day wear, as well as more formal dresses and skirts.  You really could get your entire maternity wardrobe at Pink Blush Maternity and not break the bank while doing it.  Most of their tops are under $30, dresses around $35, and bottoms as low as $18.99.

4506_1_I had a terribly hard time narrowing down my favorites from Pink Blush Maternity.  Everything is just so dang cute!

I decided on this navy beige stripe maternity maxi dress because I love the simple design, long length, classic colors and versatility.  I tried on the dress and it is so cute and comfortable, and I would actually wear it to church this Sunday if it wasn’t just a little long in front.  Add a bump, and it will be just exactly right, come pregnancy!  Great stretch!  You wouldn’t even guess it was maternity clothing.

If you’re pregnant, go take a lunch break and pick out an outfit!  If you’re feeling a little baby hungry, go pick out a few things just to be prepared!  And you’ll love that $5 flat rate shipping!  (Free with orders over $50)

One lucky mama (or mama-to-be) is going to win $25 to spend at Pink Blush Maternity!
