Smile Brilliant! {Giveaway} – CLOSED

Lets get real and talk about the color of our teeth.  There are lots of reasons why your teeth may not be as while as you’d like, and there are lots of ways to help whiten them back up.  I have used several teeth whitening products in my days, from slimy strips to whitening toothpaste, to medicated substances in syringes and nail-polish size tubes of whitening paint.  I can’t say that one of these products was the earth-shaking solution and that I’ve never tried anything else, because the results have been minimal and clearly, I’m still looking and experimenting, but know that this whitening product from Smile Brilliant is VERY user friendly and fun to use!  I think the results are noticeable and the process is not slimy and the results are quick.
Here you can see the entire kit: a tube of whitening substance, a mouth guard, a brush, and the LED light.  These small articles could go anywhere you need, discreetly.
Everything is lightweight, but not cheap.  The LED light seems to be well-made and functional.  The high strength light accelerates the whitening process, when paired with the 22% carbamide peroxide tooth whitening gel.
Ok, get ready for some really up-close and personal pictures!  The first step is to twist the pen until you can see the whitening substance on the pen bristles.  They say it could take up to 40 twists.  Just keep cranking and be patient.  Having the gel in a pen is really convenient and very easy to maneuver.  If you’re good with an eyeliner pencil, you’ll be pro at applying the gel in just right amount and placement.
penI’m happy to report that the gel doesn’t sting, smell, or offend.  You don’t have to worry that getting some of the gel on your gums will make them super irritated.  The directions even encourage you to spread the gel along your gum lines and between crevices.
The plastic mouthpiece is soft so that it also does not irritate the gums.  It fits comfortably on my set of teeth, and really helps to keep my upper and lower lip out of the way when I’m using the LED light.  So about that light…the directions say to hold it in front of your gelled teeth for 20-40 minutes, and then keep the gel and tray in place for another 1-3 HOURS!!  So is holding something in your hand at mouth level for 20-40 min annoying?  Sure, but its not heavy or very awkward.  Just annoying.  I have yet to keep the system in place for more than 25 minutes, but I’m building up to that.  I save these teeth sessions for Dancing with the Stars nights where I can sit for an extended amount of time and not need my hands or mouth.
One pen equals roughly 8-10 applications, which should be enough to remove all stains on the front teeth.  I’m noticing more improvement each time, and I’m convinced that I’ll have sparkling pearls in a matter of days.  Overall, this kit is super easy to use, clean, quick, and effective.  Thanks, Smile Brilliant!
This kit is sold for $39.99, but you save significantly more when you purchase more than one whitening pen at a time.  Naturally, you can continue to use the same mouthpiece and light with subsequent applications.

One winner will receive their own teeth whitening kit, same as the kit I reviewed!

One thing that will always work in your favor is white teeth.  I believe a bright, white smile will impress others and win you confidence in any situation!  Although I don’t have particularly stained teeth because I’m not a coffee drinker, I have always been interested in teeth whitening products, and believe you can never have white enough teeth.

I had the opportunity to review a Revive Teeth Whitening System kit, and I am pleased and impressed with the materials and the results.

There are some cool things and some funky things about this kit.  First of all, the Thermofoam impressioned mouth guard trays rock.  You create a custom fit by dipping the trays in slightly cooled boiling water, and then pressing them to the surface of your teeth to create the indentations that the substance will sit in.  However, I would really have appreciated an extra tray so that I could have practiced.

Since you put them in your mouth while they’re piping hot (6 min cooled after boiling), I was afraid to touch the hot mouthguard with my fingers for too long. After taking them out of the barely-under-boiling water, and upon placing them in my mouth, I didn’t get them opened completely before I bit down on them, so the rim folded over and sealed down on one side on both the upper and lower.  A practice run would have been great. Its ok since I want most of the whitening done on the front teeth, and its not as important or noticeable on the back teeth.

I also would have appreciated a little instruction or picture reference regarding the syringes as far as what tips need to be removed and screwed on where.  If you’re a nurse, or have any experience with syringes, you’ll be totally fine.
After applying the whitening gel to the whitening trays, you insert them into your mouth and build up the time you keep them in over time.  You might experience some uncontrolled drooling while you’re chillin’ with an open mouth for 20-45 min, haha.  Just have a napkin handy, and its not a big deal.  When you remove the trays, a foamy and gooey substance remains, and you do have to taste the chemicals when you spit this out, but its not extremely strong or nasty.  Once you spit, you’re good to go, and the taste doesn’t linger.

My gums felt only a little tender in the morning after the first use, and this was probably due to all the fitting and trimming of the rubber trays the day before.  The desensitizing agent that you are supposed to apply after each treatment is a little tricky to completely clean out of the intricate places of the mouth guard, but taking a toothbrush to it does the trick.  I’ve experienced 0 sensitivity throughout this whole process, so I think the desensitizing gel is quite effective.

So DOES IT WORK?  Sure!  I think the difference would have been more drastic if I had stained teeth to begin with, or if I was sent a kit with a stronger concentration, but I’m still pleased with the results.  Here are my before and after pictures:
If you are at all interested in an effective teeth whitening system, Revive has some phenomenal deals going on right now.  These $99 kits are on sale for $29.99 right now.  If you’ve purchased whitening products in the past, you know that this is a fabulous price.  Thank you, Revive, for my pearly whites!
