We just got back from the Midwest where we were celebrating birthdays, eating Kansas City barbecue (the best!), and spending time with lots of family. In the middle of all of that, though, we ran into a couple of nasty storms and were a little concerned that our flights might be delayed. Well, we didn’t have any problems with our flights and, in fact, we stepped off the plane here in North Carolina to gorgeous 70 degree weather at 7:00 p.m. in the evening! The weather for our area shows that same 70 degree weather for the next 10 days, so I switched out the boys’ winter clothes for spring/summer clothes this evening and have officially welcomed spring!
After living in the California desert for three years, I have most enjoyed the scents that are associated with spring as the weather changes here in North Carolina. I love the flowers blooming and the abundance of different fruits, which bring such amazing scents into my house and every time I step outside. When I discovered Daisy Natural Skin Care, I was most drawn to the variety of scents that are available for the skin care Jean Marie creates. Scents like Tahitian Vanilla, Lavender, and Tangerine Grapefruit are in perfect tandem with the springtime season!
“Daisy Natural Skin Care offers handcrafted soaps, body butters, balms, and scrubs. Our products are made from high quality ingredients that are good for your skin. We promise to avoid “chemicals of concern” as defined by The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (safecosmetics.org). We never test on animals (we love our pets!), and we only buy raw materials from suppliers who pledge the same. We also offer vegan and fragrance free items.”
I was sent a few items to review, and I have loved every single one of them. As soon as the package arrived on my doorstep, I opened each of the products just to smell the scents and then placed each item strategically around my house for use.
Ever since I was in about the seventh grade, I have always had some sort of lip balm in my pocket, backpack, or purse for my incredibly dry and chapped lips. I placed my tube of Almond Lip Balm on my nightstand for quick use after brushing my teeth and right before going to bed. The lip balm applies easily and isn’t waxy, and the scent isn’t overbearing. This lip balm costs $3, which is incredibly reasonable!
I used body butter for the first time when I was in a store in the mall about 10 years, and I remember thinking that the product could not have been more correctly named – it feels just like butter! This Moonlight Pomegranate Whipped Avocado Butter is thick and smooth, and I have loved using this on my arms and legs just after jumping out of the shower. I keep it in my bathroom vanity and have been known to sneak in throughout the day to put some on my hands, if not for the soothing cream then for the amazing scent. Even better, this body butter is offered for only $9!
This Tangerine Grapefruit Shea Butter Soap could not be more perfect for spring! The scent leans toward a more subdued citrus and  isn’t too “fruity” at all.  The ridges on the bar were perfect for my feet in the bathtub, and I loved the subtle but noticeable scent that lingered on my skin throughout the day. The soaps from Daisy Natural Skin Care only cost $6.50 and have already lasted me a couple of weeks with lots of use left.
This Tahitian Vanilla Lotion Stick, though, has been my favorite skin care product, hands down. I put it in my purse and didn’t think much more about it until I was sitting in the airport (without my liquids) and needed something for my hands. I pulled this out, and it couldn’t have been easier to apply! The stick (similar to lip balm in its application) is creamy and doesn’t flake apart, and the scent was also my favorite of the products I received.  I agree wholeheartedly with the description for the scent: “Tahitian Vanilla is a light, floral scent, with a hint of sweetness. It doesn’t have that sickly sweet smell that a lot of vanilla products have, so those of you who aren’t into the baked good scents may want to give this one a try.” These lotion sticks come in a variety of scents and only cost $7!

Goat Milk Stuff {Giveaway} – CLOSED

Hands down, the best ice cream I’ve ever had comes from a Jersey cow dairy farm back home. Hands down, the best soap I’ve tried is made from Alpine goat milk and comes from a store called Goat Milk Stuff!
Goat Milk Stuff is run by the Jones family, and they milk their own Alpine goats for the freshest, most pure goat milk. They are not fed any antibiotics or growth hormones, so there is nothing unnatural passed into their milk. This makes their soaps natural and safe for all skin types, including babies, and people with dry skin, sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis, acne, or rosacea. And boy, aren’t they beautiful?!
I was anticipating the soaps arriving last week, and as soon as the mailman handed me the box, I could smell the soaps before I even saw who the box was from! Oh what glorious scents! To me, the smell of a product is the first thing I fall in love with!
Oh, I didn’t want to use them! I wanted to have them sit on my bathroom shelf and continue to smell up my bathroom! After only taking the soaps out of their cute bags and arranging them for this picture, I already had that delicious after-you-peel-an-orange-smell type of lingering aroma all over my hands, and I immediately wanted to jump in the shower so I could use them!
I picked out three soaps to review, and each have become an instant favorite.
Kool Koala: This soap has an aqua swirl with eucalyptus, peppermint, and spearmint essential oils. It doesn’t smell like a minty toothpaste, but rather the smell of a new pack of gum, all over you, and as fresh as can be. This one is a favorite of mine in the mornings after working out at the gym.
Pink Sugary: This one is sweet and rich. “Sugary” is great name for it. After using it, I smell like I dripped a sweet glaze all over me! The color is so rich; it looks like a bar of something delicious, and should probably be kept out of reach of children!
Pomegranate Lemonade: The tangy scent is delicious! I think this will be a favorite in the summertime for me. Nice and sweet, pretty and fruity, and with a nice pale pink lather.
The lingering smells are so strong! I barely lather up with these bars, and the scent is so intense all over my body for several hours! Mmm! Just by keeping these on a shelf in the bathroom, the smell has filled that whole part of the house and I love walking by and anticipating the next time I can use these soaps again.
I also got to try the honey scented lip balm from Goat Milk Stuff. The more I use and buy chapsticks and lip balms, I’m becoming more particular about my choices. The cheapy stuff almost makes my lips feel worse and I have to use more and more of it.  This balm is very natural in color, flavor, and ingredients. You can’t get more natural than honey. Get this: the ingredients listed are soybean oil, beeswax, sunflower seed oil, cocoa buuter, shea oil, vitamin E, and flavor oil. I love having something so pure and natural on my lips.
Have you visited Goat Milk Stuff and picked out the soaps and lip balms you’d like to try?? They also carry laundry soap, lotions, and candles! And I just noticed two new soap flavors released as special editions for Valentine’s Day: chocolate and raspberry truffle!!
One winner will receive a $25 Goat Milk Stuff gift certificate!

My dear friend, Amber, and I met in the community theater world years ago and performed as Belle & Mrs. Potts in Beauty & the Beast! Weren’t we cute?
Since then, we’ve both grown up and gotten married and Amber has started up a cute shop of hair things and other various items!
A favorite item of mine are these cloth baby wipes. What an excellent way to cut down costs of disposable wipes and be a little more friendly to the environment. A set of a dozen cloth wipes, made out of 100% cotton jersey, is $9.50 and has an assortment of cute fabrics. They fit right into baby wipe disposable containers. You could also use them as washcloths, spit rags, burp clothes, etc. I’d love to have a stash of these in my purse, that’s for sure! With babies and toddlers, you never know what you’ll need to clean up while you’re out running errands.
This set of 36 cloth baby wipes sells for $24. Not bad!
And look, a soap saver for $4!
Everything is made by Amber herself, from her dog-free, smoke-free home. The headbands are made with Homespun yarn with cute flowers and a button attached.
Just in time for the cold weather, one lucky winner will win this black and white warm winter headband from A Hairy Good Idea!
