Ok, I know I’ve been slacking in the exercise-department since…hmm…February?  Things got a little busy, some drama erupted, and I backed out of the Ragnar.  I’m a big fat quitter, I know, I know!  But I’m gathering all my guilty feelings and only concentrating them even more into making exercise a priority this summer!  Hubby’s been swamped with studying for the mammoth CFA, but as of last Saturday, he’s a free man and we both sat down and made a master plan.  Beach bodies by July, haha!  One of the key motivators for me is my new outfit from Ellie!
And before I forget, I need to mention that you can get 20% your purchase by clicking HERE!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such savvy gym-wear.  These athletic tops and bottoms are slick, attractive, feminine, and sporty.  I also really like their color schemes–lots of black, gray, coral, lime green, and a little aqua right now.  You really could mix and match practically any top and any bottom and have a perfect workout outfit.  And did you know they release a new collection every month?  EVERY month?  I just got a sneak peak at the next collection.  Very very cool.  I fell for the Coral Crush collection…

Ellie let me try out two pieces–the Double Threat Tank (sold for $49.95) and the Double Decker Capri (sold for $69.95).  These two together make a dynamic pair, and the look is so athletic, girly, and chic!  I would feel comfortable anywhere, doing anything, in this outfit!  It is perfect for the gym, a run around town, a yoga class, or even race day.

This top rocks.  I’m a fairly busty girl, so one sports bra aint never gonna cut it for me, so consider me an anomaly and know that the average girl will love the amount of support this number has, and not have to wear another black sports bra underneath.  Plus, its water, wind and tear resistant.IMG_4412The way the top is interlaced is so sporty and chic, and the way these two go together is just how I like it.  Not like a matchy-matchy jumpsuit, but two pieces that coordinate very well, and I look like an intentionally-dressed gym-girl.

I haven’t felt this skinny in spandex workout clothes EVER!  Talk about major support and compression, but not in a too-tight or restricting way.  They only feel extremely comfortable and breathable, due to the 4-way stretch and the EllieTex fabric, which I don’t know exactly what that is, but its fantastic.
ellie1 copyThere is a thick pink waistband on these capris that can be left up for more compression and support (definitely my preference), or worn folded down, as in this picture above.  I threw these in the washer after my workout this morning (thanks Charisse, for motivating me!) and they came out just like new.  No shrinkage, fading, or pilling.  Expertly sewn flat seams help avoid chafing and allow for a secure stretch.

This just in:

Ellie is expanding their size chart!  Their next collection is going to start offering size XL for three of the bottoms and the next collection after that will offer every piece in an XL!

Another fantastic collection right now at Ellie is their Cosmic Love.  I love these neon brights!  A little loud for everyday wear, but SO fun and SO spot on for the gym!

I just signed up to run the Cape Cod Ragnar this May!  It is a 200-mile relay race around the cape, run by a team of 12 runners.  Eleven friends and I are starting our training regimens so we can kick butt at our race!  I’m ecstatic about hitting the gym a few days a week, especially while there are holiday treats everywhere I look screaming “eat me”!

Over the years, the more I run, the more picky I get about athletic wear.  I used to throw on whatever t-shirt and shorts were clean and on top of the laundry pile, but lately I’m all about breathable, moisture-managing, and especially cute gym clothes :).

ActivewearUSA is a rockin athelicwear store with a massive selection of all sorts of trendy pieces in practically every sport.  I believe their logo that they may very well be the “largest selection of women’s activewear” ever.

I received a terrificly sporty NUX Basics Focus Tank from ActivewearUSA for my training wardrobe, and it is exactly what I was looking for!  Its much cuter than a worn-out t-shirt, and I was surprised by how much I like the light compression.  It helps me keep in my post-baby gut 🙂 and provides a nice level of support.  After wearing it on my run this morning, I loved how I didn’t feel sweaty and gross.  The NUX top looked and felt exactly as if I had just put it on.  Very slick.  I’m impressed!

Are you planning on hitting up the gym after the holidays?  What are you looking for?  Sports bras, activewear tops, bottoms, shoes, jackets, fitness accessories?  Save yourself some shopping around and just get it all at ActivewearUSA.  You’ll be the cutest girl in the gym!  Go take a look at all their cute running clothes, you know, in case you’re running a ragnar too this Spring 🙂
