Having a full figure is a blessing and a curse. Usually a curse, in my opinion. I haven’t been able to buy a fitting bra from a regular store (aka Target) since high school. The waistline on dresses always creeps up to “empire” style, and finding a button-up shirt that fits in the waist but can still button all the way up is a joke. I’ve taken completely to online shopping when it comes to bras, and whether you’re plus size or not up top, you will find some super flattering and beautiful bras at fullbeauty, in bra sizes 32-58, cup sizes A-N!
The same frustration comes in finding swimsuits that cater to a full figure!! Its a nightmare trying to find something with enough coverage AND support for a mom who doesn’t want to show a heap of cleavage at the kiddy pool. Have YOU found your swimsuit of the season? Let me show off some way cute options from fullbeauty! All of these are perfection in my book: they come in larger bust sizes, they are modest, and they are right in line with what is stylish and trendy right now. Big busted women can be stylish too!
What makes these suits so great is that they are made in larger sizes, and not just for high school bodies. These are for the mom with stretch marks, saggy skin, and post-baby fluff! Many of these suits feature compression fabric and built-in underwire support, along with tummy control panels in gathered side shirred styles to hide flaws. Music to my ears.
I’m really embracing the swimdress lately. Oh where are the thighs of my youth?! I was super excited to review a swimdress from fullbeauty, and I hit the beach this weekend to show it off! This is the Nautical Stripes Swimdress, sold for $69.99-$79.99, featuring a fun fold of fabric that starts across the bust and goes over the shoulder.
Things I love about this swimsuit: I LOVE nautical, so we were in instant match based on the colors and stripes. The gold anchor clip on the shoulder is classic, and the fit is great. This is not just a dress–it has a suit underneath made in powernet lining for great compression and comfort. It has a shelf bra and foam cups, and I was surprised with the nice and thick weight of the nylon/spandex which also provides SPF 40+ UV protection. Note that on my body, the shelf bra was pulling the swimsuit down too much for my taste, so I just snipped it out, and then it layed the way I wanted it to.
I love it! I think it is the PERFECT mommy swimsuit. I’m not trying to pick up men. I’m trying to pick up hooligan children and keep them from drowning. I don’t have to wear a frumpy swimteam one-piece, though! This is still so cute in my book, and I feel so confident wearing it.
Ok, not to draw attention to my chest, but do you see how supported and shaped my (ahem) bust is? I’ll let you in on a secret: The Swim Bra. Have you heard of it? Fullbeauty sells this wonder for $34.99-$39.99, and when I saw it, I knew it would be worth every penny.
Are you familiar with the feeling of droopiness and complete lack of support in a swimsuit? There is nothing like feeling exposed and unsupported when you’re wearing nothing but stretch knit in front of family and friends. This swim bra is my favorite addition to my swim wardrobe, and will accompany every swimsuit I ever wear. So why is it so special? First off, it has thin, quick-drying foam cups that won’t absorb water and make you look ridiculous. Item #2: it has convertible straps that attach anywhere to work with every swimsuit style, regardless of whether you want to wear it with a halter top, cross-back, or even strapless suit. Also, there are silicone grippers lining the top to provide a close and secure fit without shifting. See?
I’ve considered wearing this as a full-time daily bra, especially in the heat of the summer, when I’m sweating like a banshee and moisture under my clothes is so uncomfortable. My only qualm is that the clear straps are too long, even when adjusted to the shortest length, to wear like tradition over-the-shoulder bra straps, but they’d probably be fine on a taller person, or when worn in a cross-body or halter style. It is very lightweight and totally comfortable, and SO worth the investment.
Now go pick out your swimsuit of the summer at add a swimbra to your order! Remember, whether you’re plus size or not, fullbeauty is stocked with beautiful lingerie styles in bra sizes 32-58, cup sizes A-N!
