I know that I’ve hinted before about my obsession with fabric.  Okay, so I may have even taunted you for a while now with the fact that I have a fabric stash and have kept the appearance of it a secret.  Well today is the day that I reveal what it looks like.  Kind of.  Honestly when I walked into the closet to step a picture I got a little embarrassed.  Okay a lot embarrassed.  Maybe one day I will reveal to you the true extent of my problem, but for now I’ll settle with the disclosure of a partial shelf of the book case:

Yes my fabric is housed on many book shelves.  Also in bins and bags that are yet to be inventoried.  Oh and if we aren’t planning to have guests for a while then the day bed in the room of the closet gets covered with fabric…  Admitting my problem is the first step, so I think this was a really good thing for me.  I really must start using the fabric to create some additions to my children’s wardrobe.  My wardrobe.  My husband’s wardrobe.  Okay I really have enough fabric to create wardrobe additions to clothe a small city.  😉   My start will be to make clothing for Ruby.  Want to see some things that I think would be perfect for filling her closet???  (All in size say 18 months to get her well stocked for next year.)

{Giveaway} Sew Sweet Patterns ***ENDED***

It no secret that I like to sew.  My family knows it.  My friends know it.  Basically anyone who visits my home will know it when they walk into my dining room.  🙂  The table is usually covered with my latest project!  Sure I have a whole extra room upstairs that is set aside for sewing.  It shares the space with the elliptical and guest bedroom.  But if I want to work on a project during the day then I need to be where I can keep an eye on the kids.  Which means I need to be on the same floor of the house that they are.  Do any of you remember my life long dream?  Well, let me refresh your memory or share it for the first time with a new reader.  My dream is to build an addition on the first floor to have a room for sewing.  The addition will also contain an extra room for a main floor laundry.  Currently that is housed in our unfinished and majorly drab basement.  We shall see if that dream comes true.  For the time being the dining room with suffice.  😉   I’m too ecstatic to share with you this feature giveaway, because it’s for the most adorable patterns I have ever seen.  Sew Sweet Patterns is the place and I just know that I’m going to have too much fun sewing away on styles like this:

{Giveaway} Little Lizard King ***ENDED***

About a year ago my nana got me a new sewing machine.  While she was undergoing treatments for brain cancer I took care of her and she would watch me sew on my ancient machine.  It was a machine that I had acquired at the age of 8, so quite the outdated piece of equipment!  To show her gratitude for my taking care of her she wanted to get me a brand new, fabulous sewing machine.  I told her that she didn’t have to do that.  That I wanted to take care of her and needed nothing in return, but she insisted.  My nana is one of my favorite people, I love her so much, and she has always been my biggest fan.  I wish this story had a happy ending, but that’s not true.  Nana continued to decline due the harsh radiation treatments on her brain.  She now lives in a nursing home, because her quality of life has been so greatly altered.  I am glad that she’s still with us, but it’s also extremely difficult to see her suffering.  Despite the life changes every time I get my sewing machine out it brings a smile to my face thinking of her wonderful gift.  I’m not the greatest sewer in the world.  Far from it.  But I have a spectacular machine and as long as I have a pattern I’m pretty much good to go.  Speaking of patterns are you always on the lookout for unique and fun patterns to sew for your kiddos?  I know that I am!  That’s why Little Lizard King is one of my favorite online shops.  The woman behind the designs is allowing me to pick out some patterns for my very own and it hasn’t happened yet, because it’s soooooo very difficult to make a decision!  I mean have a look at what she has and you will now why it’s such a difficult decision!
