Alki Organix {Giveaway} – CLOSED

I must wash my hands over 100 times a day.  Preparing three meals a day (plus snacks) for atleast three of us adds up to a lot of food prep, then add in wiping faces, changing diapers, and kitchen cleanup, there is quite a bit of hand washing going on, and though I live in a humid locale, my hands try out fast and easy.  I keep a bottle of lotion on the counter, but I’ve found something sooo much more appealing!  Have you heard of Alki Organix balms?

This is such a unique product, and I’ll try my best to explain it.  First off, these are made completely from 100% natural ingredients.  They contain only natural oils and butters, organic beeswax, organic lecithin, organic witch hazel extract, and/or organic apple cider vinegar.
GroupNow correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I understand, balms have a similar viscosity to lotions (but much less than ointments or creams), and unlike a lotion, a balm is applied with friction, and needs to be rubbed in.  These do feel lighter to me than the average lotion, so these have been so great to use in the summer time!  The fruity flavors make them even more appealing to me, and less heavy and masking compared to my old lotion.

Since these are not greasy like lotion, you don’t really need to work at rubbing it in.  My skin kind of soaks up the natural ingredients, and they feel so nourished.  Its true–a little goes a little way, and that less is more.  They don’t contain any water, so they are fairly concentrated and one squirt is plenty.  I’ve been using two squirts per application because I like it so much, and want to get it all up my wrists too.

Now lets get in to these flavors and scents.  I was spoiled to receive one of each variety above, and they’re all favorites by now.  The Fruit & Nut balm smells just as you’d expect–like fruits and nuts.  Its like smelling a gift basket!  It contains extra light hazelnut and grape seed oils that moisturize and a lemongrass provides a lemony fragrance.  It helps to tone and tighten skin, and I’ve especially enjoyed using this one after my hands are raw from gripping a heavy stroller bar for an afternoon.  The Sweet Honey Balm smells just like honey, probably because it contains Manuka honey from the flower of the Tea Tree bush.  This is like a “superfood” for skin because of all the antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Next up are the chocolates!  Now why wouldn’t chocolate be great for your skin?  Cacao has more than 600 natural chemicals–230 with known health benefits.  It contains iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and other vitamins, and helps fight water retention and cellulite.  These smell wonderful!!  They both remind me of the smells of Christmas.  The Chocolate Orange reduces puffiness and discourages wrinkles, and the Chocolate Mint contains the delicious Peppermint Essential Oil, making the mint aroma immediately noticeable and lingering.

I imagine all of the Alki Organix balms are winners.  They even carry a Manuka Honey Facial, and a sports gel specifically designed to relieve tired muscles.  Whether you’re a lotion-addict or not, I really think you will love these new and delicious products.  They are priced around $12.95 for a 1 oz., but they really go a long way!  I think it will take me probably months daily use to get through these bottles.

One lucky winner is going to receive one of each of the four products I reviewed!  One Fruit & Nut, Sweet Honey, Chocolate Orange, and Chocolate Mint!

Priced at $12.95 each, this is worth over $50!!

Because I was sent the prize items along with my review items, the winner will be responsible for paying shipping from me to you, via paypal invoice.  This also means that this giveaway is open to WORLDWIDE entries!

As stated in my bio, I am a thrift-store shopaholic.  I love the hunt for fabric, buttons, trim, lace, etc.  I’ve been known to attack the frumpiest of dresses for the fabric, rip out the zipper, and sew up something totally new.  I’m not afraid to get personal with any pre-loved outfit, except for one that has pit stains or deodorant remains.  Nasty.  I HATE DEODORANT STAINS!  I hate touching them, seeing them, and especially washing them out of my favorite clothes.

When I had the opportunity to review Truly’s All Natural Deodorant, I thought, “All-natural: yesssssss” (said in a dramatic sigh as I throw my head back).

When I opened the container and before I read the ingredient list, I thought, ‘This reminds me a lot of coconut oil, actually, like a really thick Crisco’.  Go figure, the ingredients are: Organic Coconut Oil, Powdered Sugar (sugar, cornstarch), Baking soda, Beeswax.  That’s it!
Yes, that’s exactly what I thought too!  Now don’t be afraid of deodorant in a round container instead of a stick.  You use it like a cream, and though you do have to touch it to put it on, I really love being able to control exactly how much I use and place it where I want it.  I seem to always smear the deo on my clothes as I’m trying to reach my armpit, or fit a sweater over my head.  And again, I HATE WHITE DEODORANT STAINS!  Yuck!  So this set-up is great.
This stuff is great for sensitive skin, and you don’t have to worry about odd skin reactions to harsh ingredients.  And yes, if you’re wondering, it smells just like coconut oil!  Fairly tropical, pleasant, and effective smelling.  I also am a huge fan of this product being strictly a deodorant without the anti-persperant, because I’ve found it is the harsh chemicals and the acidity of the antiperspirant that makes clothes change color–you know, the yellowing in the armpits of your favorite white sweater.  This is exactly how I like it.
So does it work?  Truly!  Haha.  I put it on at the beginning of a crazy busy day, and I felt clean and fresh all day.  I didn’t notice any grossness after hoisting kids, hauling groceries, housework, or even after an intense phone call that would usually get my pits working hard.  Is this post becoming a bit too personal?  I feel like this deodorant is 100% effective, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it is packaged in cream-like tub with a vintage label.  I will be using nothing but this until I’ve scraped out every ounce.
Everything comes from a home-based business in Delaware and this is their first year selling their products in an online shop!  I would love to see this product go huge!  Tell your friends about it the next time a ‘sweaty’ conversation comes up, and go purchase some for yourself!  One container for $7.99 is going to go far!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
