One of the first things that I remember in my eight-year-old mind about moving to Okinawa was that all of the cars/vans/trucks/whatever were white.  The heat and humidity on the tropical island could be absolutely unbearable, so most of the vehicles were white to try and keep as cool as possible during those summer months.  The bad thing, though, was that it could be incredibly difficult to find our white van amongst all the other white van in the commissary parking lot.  It was necessary to have something to set your vehicle apart from the rest.

We recently chose this inspirational Believe in Yourself Car Decal from The Decal Guru, and we love the way it looks!  These car decals are new at The Decal Guru, and they have some fun ones.

The Decal Guru also offers decals for laptops, Apple MacBooks, and iPads with lots of pop culture and movie references.  I love how my laptop looks now with this Flowery Eye Macbook Decal.

eyeI don’t own an Apple products (shocker, I know!), but these decals cleverly use the placement of the Apple logo on the iPad and their MacBooks.  Some of my other favorites are:

I like to think of myself as an artist, though certainly an amateur.  I at least can genuinely appreciate quality artwork and recognize the time and talent that goes into certain pieces.  I get excited about art museums and art exhibits, and I think art in general has a special way of communicating and reaching out and expressing messages and words.  In particular, I am fascinated by this beautiful collection of artwork at Society 6, which is created by thousands of artists from around the world!  Artists can partner with Society 6 and are able to sell their artwork as quality art prints, iPhone cases, t-shirts, stretched canvases, and laptop skins!

Basically artists post their artwork, and Society 6 produces and ships their products.  And what a collection!!

I spend literally over an hour browsing through all the artwork, trying to decide what laptop skin to choose for Patty II!  Here were some of my favorites:

Ultimately, I went with a seamstress favorite:

Go check out the incredible art work at Society 6 and pick out something beautiful, symbolic, or expressive for your own home!

I just bought myself a laptop!  The last laptop I bought was in 2005 and it got me through three years of college.  Compared to today’s standards, it was a dinosaur, but I loved it, and I named it Patty the Lappy.  This new little gal is named Patty II, and she’s a cute little thing.  As soon as I got her, I started looking for a case or sleeve to tote her around in, since I want it to last a long time.  (And also because my husband likes to steal it).  In my searching, I found this Etsy shop called NipponEki with some fabulously chic handmade sleeves for Macbook Pro, iPad, Kindle, Nook, Nexus, and iPhone!  They are charming!  I want one of each!  Here are some of my favorite Macbook sleeves:

And iPhone case protectors:

And covers for Kindles, Nooks, and other eReaders:

All these covers are durable and so unique!  They have soft fleece padding so your precious toys are safe from scratches, bumps and smudges while they’re being taken from place to place.  Wouldn’t these be a perfect gift for a college student or even your mother who is getting a new eReader for Christmas?

NipponEki is happy to make custom orders, which can be made in 6 days!  In fact, NipponEki is making me a custom laptop sleeve right now, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Here is an exciting deal from NipponEki!  If you buy a Macbook Sleeve, use the code freeiphone at checkout, and you’ve receive free shipping AND a free iPhone sleeve (picked at random)!!

Visit the NipponEki Etsy shop HERE, follow them on Facebook HERE, and on Twitter HERE.
