Exederm Skincare {Review}

When my son was a baby, he had pretty bad eczema. We bathed him every day as part of his bedtime routine, but the water and bath soap were drying out his skin. We didn’t want to change up his routine for fear of throwing him off, so we bought lots of eczema creams and ointments to try and help his skin. They worked okay, but I sure wish we’d known about Exederm back then!

Exederm is a skin care line made especially for people with sensitive skin, whether it be eczema, dermatitis, or just dry, sensitive skin. They avoid irritants and use the mildest ingredients possible to ensure that sensitive skin is kept healthy and happy. Their baby line includes a baby shampoo, baby oil, baby lotion, baby moisturizer and baby bath, and each has received a ‘Seal of Acceptance’ award from the National Eczema Association.

Along with their baby line, Exederm has a full line for adults. The adult line is similar to the children’s line in that it has been designed to avoid fragrance, color or dyes, parabens, lanolin, formaldehyde and other known skin irritants. The adult products have also received the highest marks from the National Eczema Association. Along with a shampoo, body wash, body lotion, body oil and intensive moisture cream the adult line also includes a conditioner and a flare control cream.

I was sent the flare control cream and the baby intensive moisturizer to review. I have a few dry, scaly patches on my legs so I have been using the cream for about two weeks now on those patches, and it works! They are not completely gone yet, but I can definitely tell a difference. I have only been using the cream once a day, and the instructions recommend three to four times a day, but even that once a day application has reduced the size of the patches and smoothed them out considerably. In fact, now it’s to the point that I’m having a hard time finding the patches to apply the cream because they’re so much softer and less noticeable! They never itched, but if they had the cream would have helped with that, too. The cream is thick, but not ridiculously so, goes on smooth and rubs out quickly. There are no weird smells or strange after-effects, other than healing my skin!

I gave my friend the baby moisturizer to use on her 5-month old baby. She said, “It’s perfect for sensitive cracked eczema skin. It’s perfect that it’s not scented as that causes tears. The feel of it is great. Not too thin and not too thick.”

Exederm products can be purchased through their website with an amazing 20% off on orders of 3 items or more, plus free shipping for orders more than $50. They also offer a money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase. Exederm can also be found at Amazon.com, Target, Drugstore.com, Buy Buy Baby and select drugstores nationwide.
