Beauty Stop Online {Giveaway} – CLOSED

So I love doing my nails and having them painted up in the latest color trends, but I find that with a busy household and a hundred things to be done at all times, I practically NEVER have an hour in the middle of the day for my manicure to completely dry to the point where I feel comfortable tackling the dishes afterwards.  My nailpolish method, up to this point, (and I kid you not!) has been to paint a coat just before I lay down for bed and try to fall asleep with my hands placed across my chest so that they dry while I sleep, in hopes that by the time I first roll over, it will have been an hour and the nail job won’t be ruined!  I just don’t have that kind of time during waking hours!  Isn’t that ridiculous?

Beauty-Stop-Logo

But really, who does, these days?  We’re always in a huff to get places, get dinner on the table, get kids in the car, etc.  I tell you that this used to be my method, because now I have a new routine 10x more sane: inm Out The Door Top Coat from Beauty Stop Online.  This product brags a 45 second dry time (that’s less than a minute, sisters!) while creating a chip-resistant, glossy finish.  It can be used on polished nails, natural nails, or even artificial nails.  I’ve got 45 seconds, how about you?

This bottle is HUGE!  It is basically the size of my fist!  Note: for extra protection, you can apply one extra coat the following day.  Now did you notice something missing?  There is no applicator brush in this bottle, so you can use it as a giant refill bottle, or just borrow the brush from an old top glaze bottle.  Worked for me.  The glaze was perfect, and it held up nicely.  Here were my nails after 5 days.  Still gorgeous and practically chip-free, even after daily household chores, hours of typing, and a few performances.

Now if you read my review from a few weeks ago from Beauty Stop Online, you know I’m already a fan of their stuff.  Shopping through their different products is really like running through a candy store with a hundred dollar bill in your hand.  Another dreamy product that only further solidifies my already extremely positive opinion of Beauty Stop Online, is the Sherani Magnified Mascara.

IMG_6180

This mascara is great.  It is not clumpy or thick, but rather very thin and fine, but it separates the lashes well, stains them a nice deep black, and makes my eyes look very natural and certainly very ‘magnified’ just like it claims :).  This sucker is sold for $4.99 at BSO.  Totally a steal for these eyes.

Surely, you know by now that Beauty Stop Online carries more than top coat and mascara.  You could really get everything you might ever need to doll yourself up in one online shopping cart.  They’ve got everything from shampoo, shower caps, tweezers, salon gowns, false eyelashes, and hair dryers to even men’s hair loss products.  Knock yourself out.

One lucky winner will receive $35 to spend at Beauty Stop Online!!

I think putting on makeup is so much like an enjoyable little art class!  With so many colors, materials, and tools at my fingertips, some peace and quiet, and a few minutes, the world is my oyster!  Like a true artist, I really feel like I can do my best work with high-quality tools.  Do you really think Da Vinci could have painted up the Mona Lisa with a 2″ wide foam brush on a stick?  To pretty up like a pro, you’ve got to have legitimate materials to work with!

I know I can tell a difference when I come across the good stuff.  You know…eyeshadow that doesn’t crease, eyeliner that doesn’t melt down my face, mascara that doesn’t clump.  You know quality when you see it, and quality is the first word that comes to mind when I tell you about the beautiful decorative cosmetics and beauty products from Dr. Hauschka!

I think I squealed out loud when these goodies arrived.  In my package was an eyeshadow trio, eyeliner, mascara, roll-on deodorant, and a makeup brush.  Let’s start from the top.  First of all, this eyeshadow trio is a perfect palette.  The three colors (beige, rose pink, and chocolate) make a beautiful set of highs and lows, and blended together with the eyeshadow blender brush (sold for $27.95) creates such a lovely look that would look great on practically any skin tone.  Pinks are always flattering, and the chocolate is fantastic for the eye creases.  This brush does a great job of blending.  I think it makes any amateur makeup job look expertly done by defining the eyes and creating a flawless gradient look.IMG_6135
There is nothing like a brand new eyeliner pencil.  This Eyeliner Black with Applicator (sold for $17.95) has mineral pigments fused with quince, jojoba and carnauba waxes that allow this black to go on effortlessly, and even after sweating my face off at a dance rehearsal, it didn’t smudge or smear down my face.  I usually have to use a new pencil for a few days/weeks before the point is a little more dull which allows for a more natural application, but this pencil has a smudge applicator on the other end for blending and softening.  The tip is nice and soft so it doesn’t irritate tender eye skin.
IMG_6133
This Volume Mascara Black is terrific!  It is sold for $29.95, and it really opens up my eyes.  It gives my lashes a slightly more subtle look than I’m used to–it is fairly thin (but it doesn’t clump!) and it expertly separates all the lashes to look evenly spaced and spread, and not grouped together.  I do like the look, and surely, multiple applications will create a thicker appearance.  It does curve the lashes well, and it is great for sensitive, delicate skin.  It contains a neem leaf extract that strengthens the lashes, and it is truly smudge-proof!
IMG_6136
Lastly, I was quite excited to try out this roll-on deodorant.  I’m really not a fan of the traditional stick.  I just can’t seem to avoid getting it smeared on my clothes and staining my whites with discolored pits.  The roll-on feature is terrific for applying just where you want to.  The surface area of the rolling ball is small, so it is easy to apply it in only the right places, and without having to turn the bottle upside down.  Holding it upright is fine because as you roll on, the ball turns and coats you in goodness.  The floral scent smells just like geraniums!  This is my favorite deodorant I’ve ever tried!  I could definitely tell a difference in feeling fresh and dry throughout a hot and crazy day of run-arounds.  Can’t wait to use it up.

Here’s the look you can get with these Dr. Hauschka cosmetics:

I had a good friend once tell me her analogy of standing in lines in heaven to pick up traits and features for Earth.  I’ve mentioned before that I did not stand in the “Good Hair” line in heaven.  When we were all choosing what line to stand in and get our talents and strengths for Earth, I spent my time waiting in a few other lines and maybe I never reached the front of this one.   My hair is SO very thin and fine and it has a rough time recouping after every pregnancy.  Instead of masking my thin hair with accessories and volume-illusion styling, I’ve decided to attack at the roots, literally.  I really believe that an obvious difference is noticeable when someone uses professional hair care, specifically the premiere line of products from ENJOY Professional Hair Care.

ENJOY products remain at the forefront of hair care technology and consumer demand, and will change based on the needs of the hairdressers and salons’ needs.  They carry an impressive line of intense hair products, hair color, and flat irons.  I’m sure you can read, but here we have ENJOY’s Clarifying Spray, Hair Mask, and Nourishing & Moisturizing Oil.  I really love ENJOY’s look.  Their labeling is very crisp, clean, and attractive in appearance.
Nourishing-Moisturizing-Oil1Clarifying-Spray HairMask
And Super Hold Hair Spray, Texture Spray, and Volumizing Dry Shampoo.  I would love to try ALL of these.  I was super excited to be able to try out a trio of products!
Valumizing-Dry-ShampooTextureSpraySuperHoldHairSpray
Below is the Fine & Thinning System, which contains Volumizing Shampoo, Conditioner and Stimulator.  This trio is specially formulated to rejuvenate and revitalize, and is excellent with fine and thinning hair.  These bottles are so TALL!  Definitely salon-style, and a good amount of substance in them.  I’ve been using all three products every time I wash my hair for the past several weeks, and even after the first use, I’ve noticed a huge difference, and I’m really impressed!
IMG_4072
The shampoo has a very minty smell to it, probably due to the peppermint and tea tree oil, and it is shimmery sage in color.  It forms an almost instantly thick foam, and it feels like a thorough wash.  The conditioner is an even stronger mint (probably again from the peppermint oil and menthol), and creamy aqua green in color.  It contains thickening agents and stimulating botanicals and oils that provide increased circulation.  You leave it in your hair for 2-5 minutes for the full effect, and you’ll feel a nice deep tingle.  Then with towel-dried hair, you apply the stimulator as a daily leave-in scalp treatment.  Get this: ingredients within bind water and nutrients in the cell, and deliver vital ingredients for hair growth.  It promotes an increased blood flow to the surface of the scalp while refined avocado extract reduces the production of DHT and seborrhea, both causes of hair loss.  I really like that the stimulator comes in a pump so I don’t have to guess how much to use, or how much is going to come out if I pour it.  Again, more effective tingle associated with it.  This little guy is available in finer salons in a 7 fl. oz. size for $43.96.  These products really give your scalp an aromatherapy treat that reminds me of a visit to a high-end spa.IMG_4075

RESULTS:  I’m in love!  Even my tossled towel-tried-but-still-damp hair looks lifted at the roots and feels thicker and more volumized, with great texture and an awesome smell!  Over the last few weeks, I’ve been noticing a great body lift straight out of the shower that on its own is better than using other shampoos and styling products.  I think it creates a fabulous foundation to start styling with.  I’ve been happy with the styling I’ve been able to do with it, and the strong healthy look it creates.  I’ve noticed very minimal hair loss in the shower–much less than usual.  These are intense products!  Very strong, very effective, color-safe, and can be used on all hair types.

If you’re still looking for a gift that is practical but meaningful, you might consider heading over to Beauty Encounter to check out their products!

They have skincare, hair care, bath and body, items for the home, and perfumes and colognes.

I was sent Ralph Lauren Hot, and I loved the scent.  It was strong enough to last the whole day, but wasn’t overwhelming or powerful.  Even though it’s more of a summer scent, the “Sensual Mocha Cream, Spicy Cinnamon, Luscious Maple” seemed to make this perfume to work in other seasons (such as fall when I’ve been using it!).

I also have Terre D’Hermes to give to my husband for Christmas this year (shh!), but I did try it out.  On my own wrist.  Without completely thinking.  Let’s just say that the scent is very manly and should not be worn on my wrist.  :(  I’m sure, though, that I’ll love it on my husband.  🙂

Reflections Hair Care {Giveaway} – CLOSED

My hair used to be thick and shiny without any help at all.  I could use any sort of shampoo, conditioner, styling aid, any or all of the above, and it always had lots of volume and was healthy.

Until I had my boys.

And, I tell you, it’s been an uphill battle for the past four years.  Four months after I had my first son, I had clumps of hair falling out, about an inch all around the edges of my hairline.  Putting it into a ponytail looked horrible because it looked like someone had shaved all around the outside edges.  I thought it would be better after getting pregnant again (and it did), but then it all fell out again.  At least it was more evenly distributed this time…

I was happy to receive these Hydrating products from Reflections Hair Care to review, especially now that it’s winter time and my brittle hair was breaking off and causing lots of flyaways.

I liked the feel of the shampoo and especially loved the smell that made me feel like I was in a spa or salon to get pampered.  I’m a wash-my-hair-every-couple-of-days-thanks-to-dry-shampoo kind of girl, so my shampoo has quite a job to do.  The conditioner wasn’t as creamy as I was used to, and I didn’t notice an incredibly soft feel to it after rinsing it off in the shower.  I did notice, however, that the hair seemed to have more strength to it after towel-drying and that it didn’t have as much frizziness.

I loved the Volume Gel (and so does my husband!), and the Thermal Protecting Spray is a must for me since I use my incredibly hot Chi flat iron daily and my blow dryer 3-4 times a week.

Reflections Hair Care also offers a Tea Tree line

and an Awapuhi line, both comparable to top of the line salon products at affordable prices.

Reflections Hair Care is giving away one value pack (winner’s choice of line) to a Dandy Reader!
