New Shoes

Getting new shoes is always more fun when there’s a slide involved.

It also doesn’t hurt when the new shoes happen to be Spider Man ones that light up…

Happy Tuesday!

A Room With A View

Here I sit on the floor in our family room while the kiddos play nearby.

I heart the colors of fall!

I Spy

This sweetness was captured from the kitchen window clear inside the house. Now you’ve gotta look ever so closely to see what I spy.

I spy a Banjo who was excited to go on a “campout” with his little stuffed friends, blanket, and flashlight. Ruby was sleeping and it made me smile to watch him playing in this quiet moment. Then he came back inside to only stomp around and be ever so loud. What part of “Whisper. The baby is sleeping” can’t a 4-year-old understand??? *sigh*

Soccer Boy

Banjo is becoming quite the little soccer pro.  Okay, okay…  So he’s not really a pro yet.  I’m just being a proud momma.  🙂   But he’s definitely learning how to play and having a lot of fun out there.  Which, in my opinion, is the most important thing!  Both Audi and I were athletes in high school, so we do like sports.  However, we aren’t the type of parents to put a lot of pressure on our kid to go out there and be the next David Beckham.  If Banjo excels in a given sport then that’s fine.  If it’s not his thing then that’s fine too.  Above everything else we want him to learn the fundamentals of the sport, good sportsmanship, what it’s like to be part of a team, and to have fun doing it!  This introduction to soccer is doing just that for our little guy.  He and his team mates are so adorable out on the field running back and forth.  Not really always knowing which direction they are supposed to go in (they are 4 and 5 year olds), but determined to get the ball no matter what!  In fact they often remind me of a gaggle of geese out on the field.  The ball is kicked and they all take off trailing after it.  It’s really cute.  Just like our little soccer boy.  🙂

i heart corn mazes

Remember how I told you yesterday about my love for corn mazes?  Brookdale Farms has more than just corn.  Like…

A giant tractor tire:

That makes for a dandy place to play and hide!

A straw bale playland:

Cute tire swings:

A cow train:

That has a tail!

And…

Let’s just have another look at that gigantic, glorious corn maze, shall we?

Yep.  I really do heart corn mazes.  But mostly I heart visiting them with my little family.  🙂

Corn Maze Craze

One of my favorite things about October and fall?  Corn mazes!  We had a crazy fun time with our friends getting lost in the corn at Brookdale Farms.

Don’t you just love all the fun fall festivities???  What are some of your favorites?

Big Wheel Princess

20121009-182102.jpg

The Price Is Right Live traveling show came to The Fabulous Fox theatre here in the Lou. Love that place. So my sister-in-law and I (big fans of the Big Wheel as we are) got all gussied up in our Showcase Showdown finest and were soooo ready to come on down! We even had the homemade shirts and tiaras to show how serious we were about appearing on the show.

Only… the producer people were obviously not that serious about us, because there was no, “Tara come on down! You are the next contestant on The Price Is Right!”. Not even close. We didn’t even win a door prize shirt. Nada. Well, there’s always hope. Maybe we can take our act on the road to the show in L.A. Or maybe not and we will just say we did…

Exploring

Over the weekend we had a BBQ at my brother’s home. We were celebrating the return of our parents from their beach vacation. It was also a very enjoyable time for Banjo. His little cousin is finally at that age where they can play together. And they played. And they explored behind my brother’s garage. And it was fun.

Glow Balloon Glow

For starters…  We celebrated Audi’s birthday today.  Happy birthday handsome!  🙂   He hit the big 3-6!!!  How does that happen exactly?  Getting older??  Exactly how?  I have less than a year before I’m considered mid 30’s.  Not a good sound to me…  😉    This time of the year is a favorite at our house for two reasons.  First:  There’s a birthday to celebrate.  Second:  The Forest Park Balloon Glow.  It always falls around Audi’s birthday, so it’s the perfect way to celebrate!  Every year St. Louis has a really cool balloon race.  The night before the launch there is always the glow.  Basically this huge field is filled with tons of hot air balloons.  Every so often a horn sounds and the balloons are lit simultaneously for several seconds.  It’s seriously one of our most favorite events to attend as a family.

Banjo was so excited to see the balloons this year.  I’m grateful for these opportunities to build memories for my children.  See you again next year, Balloon Glow!
