When I’ve attempted diet plans in the past, I could never stick with them for long, and it usually came down to the big inconvenience of it all.  Its just too hard to shop and cook something different for myself when I’m also cooking and shopping for the rest of the family who doesn’t want to join me in my crazy “fill in the blank” diet plan.  I’ve often thought that if meals or ingredients were already scheduled out and in my fridge, it would be easy as pie to stay the course.  Diet-to-Go is just such a plan–in fact it is America’s Favorite Diet Delivery Meal Plan, and I was super duper excited to try out 5 days of meals!

A few days ago, almost a full week of meals was just delivered to my door!  WHoah!  I frantically took a picture of everything, then transferred the frozens to my freezer, more amazed with each meal I pulled out.

I was getting so excited about this 5-day diet where I didn’t have to do ANY shopping, ZERO decisions, and no debating/bargaining/justifying.  Just stick to the menu.  Because every little condiment, juice drink, and side dish is included, you really have everything you need to accompany all your meals.  If I was a workin’ woman, I would have Diet-to-Go meals delivered right to my workplace, then I could store them in the fridge and never have to worry about shopping, transporting meals from home to work, or even having to decide where to eat out.

Now look how helpful this is: nutritional facts on the back as well as directions for heating.  Though most, if not all, of the meals’ directions are simply to just upwrap the plastic and microwave the whole thing.  Easy.

So how does everything taste!?  I have mostly all good things to report!  I loved the variety!  It was such a nice break from the tradition pb & j meals we have a round here.  And how gourmet!  Lentil chili and mushroom & leek strata?  What mom gets these kinds of dishes in 3 min. or less while concentrating on feeding the kids and running the home?  The amount of time I saved this week in food prep alone was so worth it!

Some of my favorites…

Breakfast: A Mushroom Strata, Chicken Sausage, V8, and an Activia yogurt.  This was delicious!  Its a very filling breakfast, and a great source of several food groups.

Dinner: Thai Turkey Tenderloin, Stir Fry Rice, Green Bean Medley.  Look at all that food!  It is loaded with flavor with a huge chunk of meat, and a great spicy texture.  I couldn’t eat this fast enough, and was full the rest of the day.

Two of my least favorites…

Breakfast: Asparagus & Swiss Frittata, V8 Fusion, Orange Segments.  The frozen orange segments didn’t reheat well.  Even my boys spit them out when I offered the rest to them.  The asparagus frittata was a lot better with salt and pepper!

Lunch: Grilled Cheese, Lentil Chili, Brownie.  This is a least favorite only because it looked and tasted like it was prepared on French toast bread, but if this is how you normally have your grilled cheese, perhaps you wouldn’t think twice about it.  I did appreciate the brownie!  Yum!
