Crunchy leaves.  Hot chocolate.  Boots.  Warm socks.  Sweaters.  Yes, yes, yes!  You readers who live in warm climates may never have to scrape your car, shovel your driveway, or worry about your hair freezing on your walk to school, but you also don’t get to experience on a daily basis the glory of wrapping your neck up in something glorious!  Yes, I’m talking about SCARVES, some of the cutest accessories ever!

FRAAS has a new collection of scarves, designed for this upcoming Fall season.  This scarf is Style #060607, and it comes in the four colors below (petrol, dark red, purple, and black).  You’ll notice that they are reversible!

FRAAS has been in business for over 130 years and has always been the world’s leader in mufflers and shawls.  Their research team is continuously developing discovering new yarns, fabric, and methods of manufacturing.  They take into account the current color palette trends and use all sorts of materials including yarns, acrylic, modal, viscose, cotton, poly, wool, and cashmere to manufacture their styles.

I was sent this scarf (Style #060607) in dark red, and wore it out this weekend when we saw the Boston Ballet perform on Boston Commons!  I love this red color for Fall!  I think the colors in contains allow it to match well with denim and especially khaki clothing, much like my jacket.

What I love about my scarf is how heavy it is and how it doesn’t wrinkle.  The weight accounts for intricate stitching that doesn’t allow cold winds to pass through it, keeping your neck nice and toasty.  This guy is extremely soft, probably because it contains a mix of viscose and acrylic.

Beautiful, and just a little funky :).  The dimensions on this scarf are 14″ x 72″, and it is sold for $40.  FRAAS products are sold worldwide in department and specialty stores, as well as online, specifically fraas.com and amazon.com

I’m not really a scarf-wearer, but I want to be!  I just spent way too much time yesterday looking up all the fun ways to tie a scarf, and I think I could really get into this.  I think scarves are such beautiful accessories, especially lightweight, flowy ones that can be worn all-year-round.  We have a rack in our mud room that I am ever-interchanging with what we’re wearing lately according to the season, and I’d love to stock it with some year-round favorites.  The first thing going up is my oh-so-beautiful silk scarf from FRAAS!

FRAAS (doesn’t the name even sound exotic and ritsy?) has been in business for over 130 years and has always been the world’s leader in mufflers and shawls.  Their research team is continuously developing discovering new yarns, fabric, and methods of manufacturing, and their Spring/Summer Mystical Coast collection is so ocean-dreamy.

Browsing their pieces of art make me feel like I’m deep sea diving among coral reef, which I haven’t actually done, but it sure looks fun :).

I was sent the Mystical Waters (Style 623949) scarf and it is gorgeous gorgeous!  This is a 100% silk oversized print, available in coral and turquoise, that retails for $48.

I think the colors are so dynamic!  Great for spring/summer, and it does a good job of transitioning from last winter’s pastel trends to this summer’s brights.  It doesn’t look too juvenile or dated, and though I probably would prefer a clean finish over the frayed edges, I highly doubt this will be unraveling.  It measures 40″ by 72″, making it extremely versatile in the number of ways in can be worn.  You don’t even have to wear it on your neck if you have a high gag reflux, ha ha.  It could be worn as a head wrap, around your waist, as a sarong, and maybe even a halter top, if you are that brave.

You really have to touch this in person to understand just how luxurious it feels around my neck.  So buttery smooth, delicate, but still with a nice weighted hand of real silk.  The beautiful thing about silk (as I learned in my Textile courses in college) is its warmth without weight, and how breathable it is, making it a great summer fiber.  It also resists creasing and can stretch 10-20% without breaking.

Classy, classy.  This scarf has turned me into a scarf-wearer, for sure.  Layering will always be in style, and a scarf like this is going to be SO versatile!  There are a dozen ways to wear a silk scarf, each a fun way to accent your wardrobe and personalize your look.  Go look up the Mystical Coast collection by FRAAS, and pick out a favorite!
