Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

If you sometimes find veggies boring, or its hard to think of creative ways to make them appealing again, I’ve found a great product for you.  This is the SuperSwizz Spiral Slicer, available on Amazon for $19.95.

IMG_9865[1]This really is a simple contraption, but it is really fun to use and really effective on crunchy fruits and vegetables!  The double cyclone has two different sizes of blades that allow for two Julienne sizes.  Just insert a food item and start cranking.  The grates are sharp and it takes minimal effort to twist and get instant food shreds.

zucI think my favorite features about this product are its size and care.  The contraption doesn’t come with any interchangeable parts, doesn’t need to be fastened to the counter, and its small enough to fit anywhere among the appliances.  I LOVE that all it takes to wash is a rinse and a cycle in the dishwasher.  I love my low-maintenance tools and they seem to get used the most.

What you get is a platter full of professionally sized veggie strings along with the awkwardly shaped stubs at the end.  You can crank more goodness out of the ends by spearing them with the sharp circular lid so that your fingers don’t get too close to the blades.  What you see are very long, continuous zucchini straws, which require some chopping afterwards to make them easy to serve.  I cooked these up for visiting family guests last night, and they told me the zucchini was delicious and fun to eat!  We discussed the product and decided that we probably wouldn’t pay $20 for this item, and that maybe $10 would be more reasonable, but if you’re really into fine dining, like to impress with your cooking, or have a hard time eating vegetables, that this might be totally worth it.  I think its a really fun product!

Remember, you can find this on Amazon HERE for $19.95.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
