Top Reasons Why Weight Watchers is a Good Diet Choice

Choosing the right weight loss program can be difficult and depends on your lifestyle, fitness levels and the types of foods you love to eat. Shedding a few pounds requires commitment and determination. One of the most popular weight loss plans is Weight Watchers that offers a wide variety of foods for a balanced way of eating. The top five reasons to choose WW are:

Reason # 1 – Ease in Following the Plan, Eating Any Foods

Sweet or healthy food

The Weight watchers plan is a rather easy plan to follow because it is not just a diet but learning a new way of eating. The premise is not to limit any type food or count calories but to determine a point’s value for all you eat. You can still eat your favorite foods and desserts, but learn to control portions and allow for the points. To be more successful, you may want to opt for higher fiber foods, leaner proteins plus fruits and vegetables. When starting the program, you are provided a point’s calculator that you can take with you anywhere you go to determine with ease what and how much to eat.

Reason #2 – Choice of Online or Local Memberships

You may choose to attend weekly meetings in your area, if that fits into your schedule, or join the online program if you lead a busy lifestyle. Either way, you get all the tools necessary to begin losing weight immediately; a list of the best food choices, a discreet weekly weigh-in, recipe ideas, coupons for weight watcher food choices and the encouragement and support of other members and staff. Going to a meeting near you may allow you more incentive because of the personal interaction with other members and the one-on-one encouragement received for each achievement of weight loss; but the choice is yours according to your needs and schedule.

Reason #3 – Affordable: Weight Watchers Promotions Throughout the Year

Promotion codes are published every month, bringing the cost down to $5 a week for Weight Watchers Online and $30 a month for Weight Watchers Monthly Pass. For promotional discounts look at:

You can find sites with coupons for Weight Watchers if you search on Google for “Weight Watchers promotional codes.”

Reason #4 – Specialty Foods and Products

You are provided all the special products necessary in following the program, such as food diaries, points calculator, how to follow the plan, plus tips, recipes and more. If you choose to follow the plan on your own with tips from online, there are many available weight watchers products at your local grocery store. They may be labeled as weight watcher or smart one’s foods to include frozen meals and entrée’s, breakfast, snacks, cakes, desserts, candy and more. However, you don’t have to eat specialty foods to be successful.

Reason #5 – List of Zero Points Endless Foods

You never have to starve while on the WW program because there is a full listing of foods provided you that consist of zero points. You can eat as much as you like to feel satisfied. Typically, the foods on the zero points list consist of most fresh fruits and non-starchy vegetables. Enjoy and lose!

As mentioned previously, one of the best tools for success on weight watchers is the support and motivation gained from meeting leaders, WW staff and fellow members. This is the best way to guarantee you stay on track and achieve your goals.

The summer phrase that strike fear in the hearts of women everywhere.

What are the words???  Swimsuit Season.  You are feeling really fearful right now, aren’t you?  Maybe I’m alone in this, but I ate a few too many treats over the holidays and then it just sort of continued into the new year.  Valentines Day.  Then Easter with those addicting Cadbury Mini Eggs.  It’s time that I face the facts.  And the fact is…  I’m not in the shape I want to be in for Swimsuit Season!

Sorry to burst any bubbles for the rest of you, but the days at the pool are just around the corner.  As in Memorial Day weekend is next weekend and that’s when many pools open up.  At least that’s the magical weekend for pool openings in St. Louis.  Even though our current temp outside looks like this:

And we could very well be swimming today, but Memorial Day weekend it is!

Due to my skin cancer scare I will forever be found at the pool sporting one of these:

It’s what my dermatologist recommended and I figure it’s better to be safe than sorry.

However, I still need to be in shape for that rash guard!  Argh.  Cadbury Mini Eggs you really ruined me.

The difficult thing about getting in shape is you can only do so much with just diet and you can only do so much with just exercise.  You actually have to combine the two to really get in shape and be healthy!  I’m the cardio queen and can do hours on the elliptical, but it only ever gets me so far.  Even when I’m also watching what I eat with the cardio hours.  I was still always left with this sort of skinny fat business.  How do you get rid of skinny fat???  Build muscle.  I know that hours of cardio doesn’t build it, but still had no idea what to do without a gym membership.  How was I going to be able to do weights at home?  I’m too busy to go to the gym.  I have kids.  I’m busy, busy, busy.  The excuses just kept piling up!

Fortunately the answer sort of fell into my lap.  Okay it did fall into my lap!

A few months back I was asked to do some consulting work for this new fitness company:  Revolt.  I thought, “Sure.  What the hey.”  Working as a liaison with getting bloggers set up on the fitness program and following their success has been an eye opening experience.  They are getting some awesome results and all from their own homes!

With Revolt you get access to meals plans, daily workouts, and online support.  All for less than you pay each month for a gym membership!  Now I know that I do technically work for Revolt, but I would love to have a Revolt team.  Where we can all work together on the fitness program.  Wouldn’t that be fun?  Something we can all keeps ourselves in check on.  Who’s with me?

JOIN THE REVOLT!!!

Disclaimer:  I do work for Revolt, but I think it’s a really great program.  All opinions are strictly my own.

Finally spring!

Spring has finally sprung around here and it is about time!

Our tree decided to bloom with its gorgeous white blossoms.  Not sure what kind it is, though.

Guess I’ll have to do some research and get back to you.  😉

As I said it’s great that we are finally in the spring season.

Mere weeks ago (the end of March) we were buried in snow here in St. Louis:

One day it was gorgeous outside.  Temps in the upper 50’s.  Then literally the very next day we had over a foot of snow.

But here we are less than a month later and able to enjoy the outdoors!

The kiddos and I have been having a grand time with the nice weather.  We have been trying to take walks on a daily basis.  Ruby loves to ride in the big red wagon and Banjo loves to run ahead of us.  It has also been fun to get out and see the neighbors and I’m grateful for the wonderful street that we live in.

This gorgeous weather is a reminder that swim suit season is lurking.  In the coming weeks I’ll be sharing with you about some great workout programs.  Perfect for getting in shape for the swim wear.  For now let’s have a look at some of the ‘it’ styles for the summer from some of my favorite lines:

What will I be wearing this summer?  Well, given my latest skin biopsy and subsequent minor surgical procedure scheduled for later this month I won’t be showing much skin.  In fact my doctor recommends that I wear a rash guard from now on.  Maybe this one from Lululemon:

Happy swim suit shopping!

My words of advice:  Wear sunscreen.  Don’t go tanning.  I wish I had known this when I was younger.

Getting Healthy Week 2: I saw and I ate

How to begin, how to begin, how to begin…  First off I didn’t do a biweekly posting like I said I would.  That’s never a good sign, right?  Okay.  Deep breath.  Last week was an epic fail.  I stayed exactly the same weight.  I didn’t gain and I didn’t lose.  Exactly the same!!!

The week started off fabulously.  In fact all the weekdays were fabulous.  I worked out on the elliptical 2 days at 50 minutes each.  So I didn’t hit my 3 days of working out goal, but those 2 sessions were 50 minutes each!  😉   I ate healthy Monday thru Friday.  Seriously health.  Like I didn’t use all of my points at all.  Even on Friday night I was feeling really good about myself.  Yep I was totally under my points for all the weekdays.  So how did I not lose you are thinking???  Here’s how…

All of the above are perfectly fine in moderation, but do you think I moderated?  NO.  See what I mean?  Epic fail.  I hosted a baby shower in my home on Saturday and then of course Sunday was the big football game.  I was weak.  I caved.  I ate.

This week?  Not going to happen.  I’ve gotta do better.

How did you do?

Getting Healthy!

It’s time to start to…

GET  HEALTHY  AT:

Tara-Button-2

Are you ready for this???  It’s Monday and I think that’s the best day to start.  Why wait until the middle of the week?  So… Let’s get this started, shall we?  Throughout the coming weeks we can all share tips, recipes, etc.  Be sure to check in often since I’m planning to post biweekly.  In blog postings I’m going to share with you my goals for the upcoming week(s).  Feel free to share your own plans in comments as I think it will be beneficial for us to all work together!  Some of us might be looking to exercise more.  Some of us might be looking to lose some weight.  (I’m wanting to drop 20 lbs.)  Some of us might be looking to maintain our weight through diet and exercise.  Whatever we are looking for I think we can all stay motivated with a support system!  A dandy support system!  😉

Here are my goals for this week:

  • I’m going to start tracking again.  Tracking EVERYTHING.  I’m a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and have their app on my phone, so it makes it very easy to track.
  • I’m going to eat healthier.  The fridge is stocked with some fresh fruit (blackberries, blueberries, apples, strawberries, oranges) and I’ll be reaching for the fruit in place of candy treats.
  • I’m going to workout on the elliptical at least 3 times this week.

I’ll touch base with you all in a mid week posting.  Just to let you know how it’s going.  And you can do the same in the comments on that posting.  🙂   Then next Monday I’ll be posting my weigh in.  Fingers crossed this week goes well!

What are your goals for this week???

Leave a comment to let us all know!  🙂  Oh and good luck to all!
