Diddle Daddles {Giveaway} – CLOSED

One of the best things about living in small town is that they usually have a great downtown area with local shops and restaurants, and we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy them in the last three places we’ve lived.  I love spending a Saturday morning or a random Tuesday evening walking through the downtown streets to discover some of our favorite places to eat and to explore the great items in the boutiques.

While I’m the first to sing the praises about online shopping (especially after living in small towns in the last three places we’ve lived!), there are few websites that have the same type of feel as these fun downtown shops.  I was thrilled to stumble upon the online shop Diddle Daddles that just so happens to have that boutique feel with unique items and changing inventory!

scarf

Neon Infinity Scarves – 7 Colors — As I’m sure you’ve been able to tell from my past year of blogging on Dandy Giveaway, I’m not always the most fashion-forward mom.  I was determined last fall/winter to figure out how to incorporate a scarf into my wardrobe, and I’ve decided that this is the year for infinity scarves.  These colors add a great pop of color that is sometimes necessary among the grays and brown of fall wardrobes.

Purseinsert-2T

Purse Organizing Insert — I’m heading back into the diaper bag stage in just a couple of weeks, and this purse organizing insert would be perfect to keep everything in purse well-organized so I can find things quickly.  The other benefit to this Purse Organizing Insert is that you can quickly move everything you need from one purse to another!

hi low

Royal Blue Hi-Low Dress — I love how the hi-low style of this dress jazzes it up a little and gives some flair to transition from summer to fall.  I could see this with a set of flats for an afternoon dress, some heels for a more dressy occasion, or great boots to make it warm enough for fall and winter.

Chalkboard-1

6 ft. Chalkboard Vinyl Roll — And talk about your unique items!!  What a fun item this was to receive in the mail, and it came at the perfect time since we’ve been cleaning out and redoing our toy room in an attempt to be somewhat better prepared for our overseas move in just SIX MONTHS.  We’ve been selling and donating some of our larger items, and the (very large) room was a little bare and needed something.  This was the best solution to add some fun to the wall while also providing a reason to keep that area clear and open.  I could also see this in a hallway, and it can be cut into smaller pieces that can fit on doors or smaller sections of wall in the house.  We’ve loved it so far, and I’m excited to be able to peel it off, roll it up, and take it with us to our new house.

One Dandy reader is going to win a Chalkboard Vinyl Roll!  Enter to win below!

I have to admit that my absolute favorite stage of pregnancy is RIGHT NOW — I’m 26 weeks along, meaning that I’m not too huge but actually look pregnant, my morning sickness is completely gone, and I have tons of energy.  **So sorry to those of you who are still throwing up around the clock or already have swollen ankles — I really lucked out this time!**

My favorite part of pregnancy, though, is having the baby bump.  I hate to think of it as an accessory, but I really feel like I look cute in just about anything I wear because I have a baby bump!  I’m more willing to try new styles because I figure that if I can’t pull it off, people will just think, “Oh, too bad — it’s hard to be pregnant and try to find clothes that fit you” and not “Yikes.  No sense of style on that one.”

I discovered Milan Maternity about a month ago when I was looking for a few pieces that would work for all stages of pregnancy and maybe even for the postpartum bulge and nursing “trimester” (that lasts about a year…).  I immediately fell in love with the pieces from Milan Maternity because they’re cute and stylish, appropriate for a variety of seasons, transitional, and completely affordable!

“Pregnancy is a time to be celebrated and every woman deserves to have a great wardrobe during this special nine months!  However, most of us don’t have $80 to slap down for a single designer maternity top, and also don’t want to settle for frumpy, unflattering styles either.  Our mission is to provide designer style that flatters your new shape at prices you can be happy about.”

I’m not kidding when I say that I literally took hours to select an item to review!  I looked through everything, decided that I wanted it all, tried to pare down my list, went through my closet to see if I was missing a certain color/style, etc.  I am serious when I say that I could have gotten anything (or everything!) from Milan Maternity and been completely happy!  I decided on this top to use in the fall/winter time when I will be nursing:

Julietta

Julietta French Roast

I tried it on immediately and it fit so well, even on top of my growing belly!  The fabric is high-quality, and I’m sure it could last quite a while and could easily be used past maternity and nursing stages.  I especially loved that the bottom part of this shirt didn’t flare like other empire-waist maternity tops do; this certainly makes this top a “transitional” piece that doesn’t scream “MATERNITY!” when worn.

I have a picture of my oldest son when he’s about six months old sitting in his Bumbo seat eating pureed green beans, and he was wearing a white long-sleeved onesie.  You’d think that those green beans would be all down the front of him, right?  No way.  He is the cleanest eater I have ever known — we never needed a bib and could feed him on the go with a spoon in the most awkward of positions.  Fast forward another two or three years to another picture of him at Easter eating a melting chocolate bunny outside in the sun wearing his adorable three piece Easter suit.  And, again, no chocolate anywhere on his clothes — just a little on his cheek.

Well, his little brother has more than made up for that.

Our now-two-year-old still requires a bib for some foods (spaghetti, applesauce, etc.) and can make the biggest mess out of what I would think to be the cleanest foods (fruit snacks, maybe??).  This review was perfect for him!

We were sent this absolutely adorable “Garcon” feeder apron from MarlMarl, suitable for children ages 0-3.  The snaps in the back are easy to attach but more difficult for kids to remove, and my favorite part is the extra material at the bottom that catches whatever might land in their laps.  My little boy put it on as soon as I showed it to him, and then proceeded to leave it on to play for the rest of the afternoon!  While he used it for a “dress-up” piece and brought us food as a waiter, it easily could be used in more formal atmospheres to keep clean while not catching the attention of others in the room.

And, frankly, the beautiful Bouquet Rose Pink style for girls to wear could just about be an outfit in and of itself!

MarlMarl also offers bib sets for boys and girls that come in a striped gift box with a greeting card for birthdays or baby showers.
