First of all I just have to say how excited I am for this giveaway! I know I usually wait until the end of the post to talk about how exciting it is to have a chance to do a giveaway but I just can’t wait! I have been MIA lately because it has been super crazy in my little family’s life. We accepted a job offer a couple hours away from our home, packed our house, put it on the market, moved, and very nearly had a melt down when I couldn’t get a box open all in about 3 weeks. It’s been crazy! But today when I put these clothes on and got ready for a photo shoot, I felt at ease and just so comfortable. Do you own any clothes that make you feel that way? Better yet, do you own work out clothes that make you feel that way? That is exactly what Soybu is all about!

I got the opportunity to try out three pieces from their fall line. The colors and patterns are amazing! The first piece is called the Soybu Flex Tank in Orchard (it really makes me want to go apple picking). It’s a totally cute tank top.

One thing I love about Soybu is how much cover it gives me. Maybe I’ve never invested in a really great sports bra, but I always seem to have trouble with the sides not giving me enough support. This is not the case with Soybu, the built in sports bra is wide and provides a lot of coverage and support.

Which for me that means I can wrangle my little boys without having to worry about any sort of a wardrobe malfunction. Let’s be honest, whether you are working out, cleaning, cooking or taking giveaway pictures, children (the pet variety as well) always seem to find their way under our feet!

I was so thrilled to try their Allegro Leggings in Fresco. The pattern is fantastic! It reminds me of a stained glass window. What do you think? The fabric is thick enough for the cooler weather but it breathes too.

The waist band is wide enough so it doesn’t cut in and give me that all so attractive muffin top. I’m trying to figure out how to work them into a totally cute date night outfit!

With the cooler months finally upon us I’m always looking for a way to cozy up in the brisk air. When it comes to active wear I usually think of your run of the mill zip up. Those are totally nice to have around when you need to layer, but what if you’re morning routine isn’t going to have you sweating and you need something a little more on the warm side? When I saw the Rhonda Sweater in Candlelight I knew it would suit my needs perfectly!

It is so cozy and comfortable! I want to wear it all the time. My absolute favorite part about it is the back! I like to call it a peek-a-boo. It just seems so sneaky and cute!

Now that I’ve told you about the clothes let me tell you a little more about the company. The “Everywoman” is who Soybu has in mind when they create their ultra fashionable active wear.  When they started out they wanted to create clothing that “would transition with her throughout her day… Soybu’s versatile active wear and lifestyle pieces help women exude beauty, strength, and balance in all they do- whether they’re enjoying a solitary moment of reflection, chasing a toddler, fitting in a hardcore workout, running to catch a flight, or meeting friends for happy hour… The company creates functional, stylish clothing so the Everywoman can get ready and stay ready all day.” I love these clothes and I really believe I could incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe. Are you sold on them?

One lucky winner will win a Flex Tank! The sizes range from XS to XXL.

{The color of the tank won will depend on availability}

Soybu is also providing a promo code for 25% for all of our readers! The code is “DANDYGIVEAWAY” and is good through December 31st.

Fresh Produce {Giveaway}–CLOSED

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

I love clothes. Let’s just put it out there. We don’t have a very big shopping budget and I rarely buy clothes “just because,” so for almost every birthday and Christmas I ask for money to buy clothes! My style has changed throughout the years (though I still own some of the same tops and skirts from before college), but one thing that has remained the same is my love for color. I love pieces that are bright, cheery and fun!

Fresh Produce is my kind of company–they manufacture clothes that are bright, colorful, comfortable AND made in the USA! They have an impressive line of Women’s clothes, including Plus Sizes, and a beautiful Girls collection. Their clothes are definitely beachy/coastal inspired, and I think when I retire I want to live in a beach house and wear nothing but Fresh Produce clothing every day. Along with clothes, they also carry Accessories such as Jewelry, Hats and Bags, and fun things for the Home. Here is just a sampling of the bright, cheery items they carry:

So after all this talk of color, you’d think I would have chosen something bright and colorful to review, right? Well, I wanted to. Actually, I had a really hard time choosing something to review because there were so many great choices! I knew I wanted a skirt and there were several I had my eye on (all in fun, vibrant colors). But when I saw the Hepburn Long Pencil Skirt, it came down to necessity–I was in need of a good, black pencil skirt, and this one looked perfect.

The skirt itself is lovely. The material is thick and stretchy (i.e. comfy!) but not cheap-looking. It is nicely tailored with a small kick-pleat in the back (a must with any pencil skirt, right?). The length was a little short for the “long” skirt, but I was okay with it (if you wear it high-waisted it hits right at the knee). What I was (sadly) not okay with was the fit. I looked at the measurements on the size chart and ordered a Small since that was about where my measurements and size range fell. Unfortunately, since it is stretchy, it fit fine (like I wasn’t squeezing into it) but it was too tight and clingy on my (big runner’s) booty. I know some people go for that look, but I just don’t. I was super bummed (no pun intended) that I couldn’t use my skirt, but luckily I have a friend who is about a size smaller than me who was in need of a good pencil skirt, too!

Here’s what she had to say: “What I liked best about this skirt was that the knit material is nice enough to be dressed up, but comfortable enough that you could wear it all day.  It was fitted, without being too tight, and stretchy enough that I could choose to wear it high-waisted or lower on my hips. The waistband is nice and wide, so I chose to add a belt just for looks.”

Girl 2

Bottom line (seriously, I’m not trying to make all these butt jokes!), if you’re getting something in a stretch fabric, think about possibly ordering a size larger than you normally would to account for the stretch factor. But these are great clothes in awesome color choices and fun styles and I totally recommend them. Fresh Produce clothing can be purchased online, at Fresh Produce Retail Stores, and at select boutiques and independent retailers throughout the country. Their prices are slightly higher than most stores, but that’s the price you pay to support things made in the USA! They also have a great Sale section where you can find their clothes up to 50% off! But lucky for YOU, Fresh Produce is offering one lucky winner the chance to pick ONE clothing item for free–good luck choosing just one!

Very Jane {Review}

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

Over the past year of blogging here on Dandy Giveaway, I’ve come across a number of new-to-me brands, products, and companies to introduce to our Dandy readers — and I’ve honestly been excited to feature them to you because I’ve liked what I’ve seen from them.  Let me be the first to tell you, though, that this website has quickly become my very favorite and that I’ve already ordered twice from them since I discovered Very Jane not even a month ago!!

Very Jane is like a daily deals site that offers boutique items from various shops at discounted prices with incredibly low shipping cost.  I say “like a daily deals site” because the items listed are usually posted for a couple of days as long as inventory remains in stock!  Every morning, there are between 7-10 new items featured on the site, and there are sneak peeks for those who follow Very Jane on Facebook — these sneak peeks, I’ve noticed, are incredibly important so you know how early to wake up (or how late to stay up?) to ensure that you can snatch up the product you want while it’s still in stock.

These items have included women’s and children’s clothing, hair accessories, organizational tools, scarves, jewelry, and even prints from Sprinkled Joy!  Here are a few of my favorites that you can find on there right now:

Must Have Scrunchy Pencil Skirts!

Personalized Weekly Menu Dry Erase Board with Marker!  (How convenient that it just happens to have “The Johnson Family” written right on it so I can see what it would look like in my own home!)

Trendy Chevron Crossbody Purse!

Multi-Shape Hand Stamped Necklace!

I received this Anthropologie Inspired Sevilla Scarf in mint (no longer available) from White Plum Boutique, and I kid you not that it was in my hands within five days of ordering it.  I also ordered another infinity scarf a couple of days later and had the same outcome — great product, incredibly reasonable price, quick shipping!

I feel a little bit like a walking advertisement for Very Jane since I’ve been telling all of my friends all about it since I came across it!  I can honestly say that I’ve been 100% satisfied with my experiences with Very Jane, and I love that I’ve found a new site that features products from classy shops and boutiques at an amazing price and especially with shipping that’s so low (sometimes lower than paying tax in store!) and lightning fast.  Head on over to Very Jane so you can fall in love with the site as much as I have, then plan to follow them so you can score your favorite deals!

thredUP {Giveaway} – CLOSED

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

I always loved back-to-school shopping when I was younger, and I love it now because it signals the beginning of cooler temperatures and the fall season — my favorite!  The cost related to this back-to-school shopping, though, can be staggering, especially for large families with multiple kids to dress for the new year.

thredUP is an online consignment shop that offers thousands of like-new clothing for boys, girls, juniors, and women.  Customers can save money by purchasing these clothes at a greatly discounted price, and they can save time by doing it all online without having to go to multiple stores in various locations.   I was especially excited about their new juniors and women sections (they were just introducing these new features when I featured them here in April) because I can take advantage of these same low prices without having to travel long distances!  I’ve always lived in small towns without malls or many popular clothing stores, and I love that I can buy clothes from some of my favorite stores at a fraction of the cost online in my pajamas while my boys sleep.  Score!

thredUP is also very specific about the brands they’ll sell, ranging from Bargain Brands (Carter’s, Old Navy, The Children’s Place) to Basic Brands (Gymboree, miniBoden, GAP) and Premium Brands (Burberry, Ralph Lauren) for kids.  Juniors can enjoy looks from Forever 21, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Hollister, and Guess, while women have a range from Banana Republic, Ann Taylor LOFT, GAP to J. Crew and White House Black Market.  Amazing brands, and amazing prices!  I also loved that I could search by brand and size, which saved lots of time and effort on my part.  Rather than browsing through an entire store to find what I needed, I could sort quickly and easily and then shop from the items that were available and in my size.

I really don’t know that I’ve ever bought clothes for any of my boys at full price.  I’ve been able to find clearance deals and shop great sales, and we’re lucky enough to have an amazing thrift store on the base with volunteers who have high standards when sorting through donated clothes and will even wash them before they are put out for purchase.  This has worked just fine for us while the boys have been younger — I don’t stress about tossing out the occasional onesie at the mall after changing a blowout diaper since I only paid a quarter for it, and I’m not so concerned when my boys go outside and get dirty when I consider that the clothes they wear sometimes cost less than a kids meal!  But, I’m not exactly sure how many more years this will last.  I’m sure that it’s going to get harder and harder as they start to request specific looks or brands as they get older, and this is one reason I’m so excited for the new juniors section through thredUP for both young women and young men.

People can also make money through thredUP by sending in their like-new or gently-used clothing (free of charge!) and receiving an amount that can either be used as credit or can be paid through PayPal.  I recently sent in a bag of clothes that I didn’t wear anymore, and the process was so easy!  I requested a bag through thredUP, it was sent right to my home, I filled it with as much as I could (both women’s and boys’ clothes, in my case), and then sent it right back.  The processing took about two weeks, and I had money in my PayPal account without any problems.  One thing to note, though, is that you DO NOT receive the clothes thredUP doesn’t purchase back in the mail unless you pay a set fee for Return Assurance.  Since my pile of clothes was a stack that I was planning to drop by the thrift store anyway, this didn’t concern me — I could imagine this being a shock, though, if you were hoping to make a certain amount on your clothes and didn’t end up with the price you were wanting.

You can also check out the Clothesline to see how much people have made on the bags they’ve sent in with specific brands and clothing items to get a good idea of what you might be able to make off the clothes you have.

Use the following referral link to save $10 off your first purchase!  http://www.thredup.com/r/K8KG07

One Dandy reader will receive a $20 thredUP Gift Certificate to find great back-to-school clothes (or fun new fall fashions)!

thredUP {Giveaway} – CLOSED

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

I’m a pretty frugal shopper and enjoy getting great deals, and I really love the thrift store that we have near our house.  They have a washer/dryer in the back so the clothes can be washed before put out on the floor, which means that it doesn’t have that “thrift store smell” to it.  They have high standards for the clothes they sell there, which makes a world of difference!  Once, I found two sleeper pajamas for my youngest, and the cashier gave them to me for free because they had some pilling on the feet — she was surprised they were even put out to sell.  !!  I know that there are a lot of places I’m going to miss when we leave North Carolina, but that thrift store is at the top of my list!  We have saved so much money and have lots of good quality items because of their high standards.

A good friend of mine told me about an online consignment shop that features great clothes for boys and girls, but I was a little hesitant to jump onboard.  While I’m frugal, I’m not cheap — I know that my two active boys will (hopefully!) be using the same piece of clothing at some point, so I like to find clothes that will withstand lots of play and washing.

After a few other friends mentioned thredUP, this same online consignment shop, I thought that I should check them out.  We’re heading overseas next year, but we won’t know where we’re going until just a couple of weeks before we move — I’m not sure that they’ll have great yard sale websites and thrift stores like we have here, and I’d really love to be able to find a way to save money and still get good quality clothes.

Well, I was not disappointed!!  I went through the boys’ clothes before going online, and, while I have almost an entire wardrobe for every season in sizes 2T to 5T (hallelujah!), I don’t have those nice white shirts for the boys to wear to church on Sunday.  White shirts are just asking little boys to play harder and eat messier, and not ONE has made it into the “hand-me-down” pile.  I decided to get some short-sleeved white polo shirts to add to my collection.

It was easy to search on thredUP by size, style, gender, color, sort by price, etc., and I was especially excited to see so many options with lots of brands and some even new with tags (NWT).  The shirts arrived on Tuesday, and I LOVE them!  I was amazed at the quality and that they were still white, and I really liked that they were good name brand clothes (two Gymboree, one Children’s Place, and one Arizona Jeans).  And the best part?  $20 for all four like-new white shirts delivered to my door.  It’s too easy!!

The reason for these good quality clothes comes from their high standards — each piece of clothing goes through a 12-point inspection: no tears or rips, no marks, no fraying, no odors, no holes, no pilling, no missing parts, no stains or spots, no fading, no peeling, no hair, no stretching.

In addition to the option to buy new or like-new clothes from thredUP, you also have the option to SELL your own new or like-new clothes to thredUP!  You start by ordering a free bag to be sent to your house, and you fill it with items that meet their standards.  Each bag can hold the equivalent of a standard laundry basket, which is perfect for spring cleaning and switching out clothes for the season change (right now!).  You send the filled bag to thredUP for free, and they pay you for every item they can resell.  That payment can come in the form of thredUP credit, PayPal, or donation to a charity.  Take a look at the video below:

I was incredibly impressed with thredUP, and I know that I’ll be using them again in the future.  In addition to clothes, they also have shoes, jackets, accessories, and Halloween costumes — again, in new or like-new condition at discounted prices.

And, my favorite part??  I just noticed that they are in the process of opening a new Women’s Shop to buy and sell clothes in women’s sizes!  You can join the waiting list for exclusive access to pre-launch activities and to be informed when the shop opens.

thredUP is offering one Dandy reader a $25 credit to use at their website!  Enter below to win!

10 Dollar Mall {Giveaway} – CLOSED

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

Even though we’re a military family and have lived overseas, on the West coast, and now on the East coast, I have yet to live in a large city or town.  Because of this, I’ve gotten used to shopping online for clothes, shoes, gifts, diapers (!), etc. so I don’t have to drive hours to get to a store — this is the closest that we’ve ever lived to a Target, and it’s 30 minutes away!  That’s probably not a bad thing, though…  🙂

I was excited to have the chance to shop online at 10 Dollar Mall, especially after I saw that I could shop for all members of my family!  They have AMAZING prices on their items, and the courtesy shipping makes it reasonable to shop online even if you’re not planning to get too much.  This is especially good for this website because everything at 10 Dollar Mall is under — you guessed it! — 10 dollars!

I was provided a $50 gift card to shop at 10 Dollar Mall, and I was able to buy a wallet for my husband, comfy socks for me, yoga pants, brown leggings, a belt, and matching swim trunks for my boys.  My gift card also covered the shipping, so I ended up with all of these items for $50 shipped to my house!  Wow!  The items were good quality, and my only disappointment was the the brown leggings were not the same color as the brown boots I already own — certainly nothing at fault of 10 Dollar Mall.

This is the Beige Oval Buckle Cinch Belt I received and LOVE to wear over my cardigans. It’s fitted but not too tight, and only costs $2.99!

These are the matching Brown, Orange, and Yellow OP Swim Trunks we got (only $5 each!), and they are good quality and seem like they will last all summer at this beach this year.

There are some great girls clothes there too — this Green and Beige Two-Piece Set costs $4.99 and would be $6.98 shipped to your door!

There are lots of choices in different sizes in the Wholesale Shoe Section.  These Brown Knee High Wrapped Around Belt Boots are priced at only $9.99!

The Wholesale Dresses Section has an amazing variety of dresses for lots of different occasions — anywhere from cute, casual dresses to more formal ones!

10 Dollar Mall is offering a $75 gift card to one of our Dandy readers!!  Go on a virtual shopping trip at 10 Dollar Mall, then come back here and enter to win!

POSHTOP skirts {Giveaway} – CLOSED

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

Remember those beautiful tops from POSHTOP I told you about a couple weeks ago?  (You can read that review HERE). And remember how I mentioned that they have the most beautiful lace skirts?  I am so excited to tell you more about them!

These skirts are just exquisite!  They are lined with their silky sold stretch micro fiber, fully opaque, and available in two lengths: below the knee, and full-length maxi.  They come in black lace over sand, or black lace over black lining.

Today’s hemlines are creeping up higher and higher these days.  The typical dress bought in a boutique or department store falls somewhere mid-thigh, which is usually embarrassingly too high for my taste.  I’m quite a shorty, and I still have trouble finding skirts that reach to my knees.  This beautiful knee-length skirt from POSHTOP is so lovely and perfectly modest, in a length that is so hard to find.

Often I try to avoid the whole at-the-knee/above-the-knee battle and just go for the oh-so-popular maxi skirt.  The POSHTOP maxi has yards of dreamy lace that looks so vintage and luxurious!  I feel like a million bucks wearing one of these!  My skirt got so many compliments at church last Sunday!  Even though the lace looks delicate, the skirt is quite durable, and can handle my boys crawling in and out of my lap all during church without a snag.  I appreciate that it doesn’t have a heavy weight for all those yards of lovely fabric, and it is so silky soft inside.

I feel like these skirts could be appropriate in so many settings.  They are dressy enough to wear to a formal event, but they could also be perfect in a business casual workplace.  I can’t wait to wear this to my husband’s grand work Christmas party downtown this year!

My favorite feature of the POSHTOP skirts is that they are machine washable (on delicate), and that they don’t show wrinkles, so they would surely travel well.  I literally took this skirt out of the bag and put it on.  No ironing involved, no wrinkles, no funky creases or pulls on the lace.  Plus, the elastic waistband makes this a go-to skirt during all of those transition times of weight gaining and losing because it will always look great on you.

Don’t miss out on any POSHTOP news or sales by joining their mailing list HERE, at the bottom right of the page.  Follow them on FACEBOOK and TWITTER!

Beautiful, beautiful!  And one lucky winner is about to receive their own skirt from POSHTOP!  Knee-length or maxi, and black lace on black, or black lace on sand!
