Advanced Mineral Makeup {Review}

I have a love-hate relationship with foundation.  I love how it looks when done right, but I hate finding a good color match.  I love concealing imperfections, but I hate the ‘masked’ feeling I sometimes get while wearing it.  I literally have a small basket full of liquid foundations from an assortment of brands–Rimmel, Mary Kay, Cover Girl, etc. that have expired from limited usage.  I just can’t find one that I like enough to use it consistently.
I was given the opportunity to review some foundation from Advanced Mineral Makeup, and in hopes of finding a match made in heaven, I bravely went with the liquid.  Lately I’ve only been reviewing powder foundations, and I’ve been completely satisfied, except for the coverage being a little too light sometimes, and in certain seasons and times of the month, I have some redness that I’m trying to conceal.

After trying it out for a few days, I actually really like it!  You know, I think a big difference between this Liquid Mineral Foundation and all the others I have stashed away is that this is a MINERAL foundation.  This is 100% natural, meaning it doesn’t contain any parabens, preservatives, or harsh chemicals, and it is 100% vegan.  These 1-fl oz. bottles are tall and sturdy, with a high-quality silver pump and sold for $44.
It really melts into my skin and actually stimulates cell growth–rosemary and aloe bardadensis juices heal the skin and it contains a natural sunscreen.
I was also worried about this liquid being too heavy, but I actually can’t even feel it.  It is practically weightless.  If you need more coverage, this foundation is very buildable, so an additional layer or two provides more coverage, but I doubt it would feel any heavier.
I chose the Ginger Snap shade, and the color couldn’t have been more spot on.  Above are the available liquid foundation colors, and below are the four options for powder foundations.  How fun that the four colors are named after four celebrities and their different but all beautiful skin tones.
It blends in so well!  I’ve had problems in the past with my liquid foundations looking splotchy, drying out my face, or having a hard time looking smooth, but even without a moisturizer underneath, this Advanced Mineral Makeup applied so creamy and effortless.  It is very natural-looking, and advertised as being great for sensitive skin, among all sorts of skin problems like acne, rosacea, broken capillaries, and hyper-pigmented skin.  Below, I applied it just to my cheeks and the side of my face so that you can see how it hides redness and still gives my face a natural appearance.
I am SO happy to have this bottle on my makeup counter.  I’m sure I’ll use it up completely and continue to love the look it creates throughout different seasons of the year.  I’d also love to try their Kabuki brushes and shadows!  Go check em out:
