Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

A baby and their ‘lovie’.  Sometimes inseparable, right?  I’m always amazed by what kind of soothing powers these personal items can possess.  I remember trying to encourage one personal item over another when my babies were small.  If there were going to be carrying this thing around for the next few years, dragging it along the floor, chewing the corners, slobbering on it, etc., I wanted it to be something cute!  I would gladly imprint any of these beautiful blankies from Bebe Bella Designs on my kids, in hopes that it would become their favorite thing too!

logoBebe Bella Designs has been creating and delivering comfortable and easy to care for accessories since 2006.  Beyond blankets, they carry burpies, booties, bibs, beanies, mittens, you name it, and all in that gorgeous buttery-soft minky material.  Also made in adult sizes, too!  Oh, how I’d love one of their minky robes or pillowcases!

5bc77e9b0d9d2887c045f693c0bb0acd49cac0e0

Today, I’m featuring the original and best-seller Blankee, made of double-sided minky.  Minky dot chenille has some powerful properties.  It is 10x more luxurious than a cotton blanket, but it can be thrown in the wash with the socks, without any extra washing/drying care involved.  Easy to care for is key in this house.

IMG_0022

This blanket is a cute size–15″ by 15″.  Just enough to snuggle around your face, but not too big or long to really drag or lug around the house like you know they like to do.  If you’re looking for larger sizes, however, Bebe Bella Designs makes these is four other sizes: “Baby” 30×30, “Toddler” 35×43, “Petite Throw” 45×60, and “Standard Throw” 72×60.  Glory, how I’d love to have one of those to myself!

Doesn’t this make a darling prop for newborn pictures?

Everything is manufactured in the USA and designed with the intention of lasting for generations.  I wouldn’t mind at all seeing my granddaughter with this in clutch!

When my son was a baby, he had pretty bad eczema. We bathed him every day as part of his bedtime routine, but the water and bath soap were drying out his skin. We didn’t want to change up his routine for fear of throwing him off, so we bought lots of eczema creams and ointments to try and help his skin. They worked okay, but I sure wish we’d known about Exederm back then!

logo

Exederm is a skin care line made especially for people with sensitive skin, whether it be eczema, dermatitis, or just dry, sensitive skin. They avoid irritants and use the mildest ingredients possible to ensure that sensitive skin is kept healthy and happy. Their baby line includes a baby shampoo, baby oil, baby lotion, baby moisturizer and baby bath, and each has received a ‘Seal of Acceptance’ award from the National Eczema Association.

products

Along with their baby line, Exederm has a full line for adults. The adult line is similar to the children’s line in that it has been designed to avoid fragrance, color or dyes, parabens, lanolin, formaldehyde and other known skin irritants. The adult products have also received the highest marks from the National Eczema Association. Along with a shampoo, body wash, body lotion, body oil and intensive moisture cream the adult line also includes a conditioner and a flare control cream.

both

I was sent the flare control cream and the baby intensive moisturizer to review. I have a few dry, scaly patches on my legs so I have been using the cream for about two weeks now on those patches, and it works! They are not completely gone yet, but I can definitely tell a difference. I have only been using the cream once a day, and the instructions recommend three to four times a day, but even that once a day application has reduced the size of the patches and smoothed them out considerably. In fact, now it’s to the point that I’m having a hard time finding the patches to apply the cream because they’re so much softer and less noticeable! They never itched, but if they had the cream would have helped with that, too. The cream is thick, but not ridiculously so, goes on smooth and rubs out quickly. There are no weird smells or strange after-effects, other than healing my skin!

I gave my friend the baby moisturizer to use on her 5-month old baby. She said, “It’s perfect for sensitive cracked eczema skin. It’s perfect that it’s not scented as that causes tears. The feel of it is great. Not too thin and not too thick.”

cream

Exederm products can be purchased through their website with an amazing 20% off on orders of 3 items or more, plus free shipping for orders more than $50. They also offer a money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase. Exederm can also be found at Amazon.com, Target, Drugstore.com, Buy Buy Baby and select drugstores nationwide.

My first child wanted nothing to do with a pacifier.  My second is rarely seen without one.  He is attached to it like an old man and his eyeglass or pocket-watch, the way we have to tether it to him so he won’t lose it!  Doom on the parent who has to put the baby to bed and can’t find the binky.  The first binky clip we got was from a dear friend (thanks Chappy!) and he has completely worn it to threads!  This is after hours and hours and hours of love!

IMG_3866

Yup, time for a new one!  Also, take note of all the drool dripping down his chest.  Its a big problem lately.  I’m having to change his clothes throughout the day just so that he’ll have a dry shirt.  Two problems where Bazzle Baby came to our rescue!  Everything they sent me was EXACTLY what we needed around here!

IMG_4186 copy

Tan-ta-ra!  The Banda Bib and Paci Clip!  This Banda Bib rocks.  It catches that drool like a boss.

Print

When I first saw these online, I thought I could easily make one myself, but after handling this Bazzle Baby product, I see the superior features that make this well worth the cost of just buying it for $12.  This is not just a bandana.  These have a very strong and sturdy velcro fasten behind the neck that is adjustable, and a soft terry lining behind.  They are sewn very well, and can hold up to a lot of wear and washings.

baz3

Good velcro is so important when you have a baby who likes to rip things off his neck!  I can’t keep a bib on “Little Brother” for the life of me, but he must find these comfortable or not worth the exertion of pulling it off, because he will leave these well enough alone.  I think he prefers to wear them, actually.  Cool.

baz2

Also, behind the colorful fabric is a layer of soft, absorbent terry cloth.  Look at all this drool it is catching!!  Halfway through the day, I’ve been switching out his bib for a clean one, and his shirt is completely dry underneath!

IMG_4234

Get two or three of these–they’re saving me heaps of laundry!  He’s been wearing these non-stop, even during his naps, and he seems much more comfortable throughout the day.

baz1

We also received two Paci Clips–they are so cute and functional!  The length is just right on these–not too long to dangle out of baby’s reach, but long enough to clip nearly anywhere and still not get yanked out of his mouth.  The grosgrain ribbon is a terrific choice, and the edge details are darling.  These start at $5.50?!  Definitely worth it.  Here are some other way cute styles:

SnoozeShade {Review}

I remember feeling helpless and limited and housebound without a double stroller when the 2nd came around.  The day we bought a double, I felt like it was a symbol of my freedom!  I was able to leave the house and tote my kids along with me while I ventured to run my errands around town.  In the city, our stroller is our vehicle, and it gets lengthy daily use.  The first day I loaded up the kids to head to the park was in May, and the unseasonably high temperatures and fears of my baby overheating were already on my mind.  The newborn was still sleeping quite a bit, so he spent even more time in the stroller when we reached our destinations.  I was cautious to park in the shade and cover his carrier with blankets, but again, I constantly worried about him heating up.  This SnoozeShade cover would have been a great solution, and even with my baby a year older and not really a stroller-sleeper anymore, we still found this to be a useful and effective cover for keeping the little man covered, shaded, and comfortable on all our outings.

logo3

The SnoozeShade is a blackout blind and sunshade that fits around your stroller, as seen below.  It keeps your baby in a cool, dark environment so they can sleep away while staying protected from the sun in a breathable, well-ventilated double layer of lightweight fabric.  As you can see, SnoozeShade has won multiple awards, each of them well deserved.

Plus hero-500x500

I was a little worried about this SnoozeShade Plus being a good fit for my double.  Pictures online made this product look like a super snug arrangement for single strollers, but I thought I’d see if there was an arrangement that could work with our Jeep Tandem.  It works just the same!

IMG_4528 copy

The elastic around the sides make it completely customizable to your stroller brand and model, and then the velcro straps that you can fasten around the structure really hold things in place, regardless of where the bars are on your specific stroller model.

IMG_4540 copy

It gets really dark in there!  This does an excellent job of blocking out the light, but still allowing your baby to see what’s going on.   Unzipping the peek-a-boo zipper at the top is a great way to check on your sleeper, or let the little guy get a better look!  I’m excited to see how this protects from bugs as well!IMG_4533 copy

My only critique is that the cover looks a little baggy on my stroller, but the seal is tight and secure, so this is just a cosmetic concern.  How very, very handy that it folds into a cute little bag with a drawstring, so that you don’t have to stuff it into the bottom compartment of your stroller.  Compact and transportable is the way to go!

IMG_4518 copy

Well, we love it!  Many happy stroller rides are in our near future!

FINIS Reusable Swim Diaper {GIVEAWAY}

Warning: Use of undefined constant user_level - assumed 'user_level' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/dandysof/dandygiveaway.com/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-google-analytics/ultimate_ga.php on line 524

So here’s another thing you should know about me: I’m cheap. Or, to put it nicely, I’m frugal. But however you say it, the truth is I HATE wasting money. And the biggest waste of money in our house right now is on disposable diapers! My 18-month old still poops about 6 times a day and every time I change her diaper I tell her she’s literally pooping on her college education fund. I know that cloth diapers would be a better option both financially and environmentally, but I never had enough money to put down for the initial investment on a ton of diapers (and, let’s be honest, I never had the desire to deal with cloth diapers, either). However, when I learned that they now make reusable swim diapers,  I thought “Here’s something I can handle!”

FINIS_logo

FINIS, maker of performance swim wear and swim products for adults, also has a great kids line. They make great goggles (at least according to some reviews on their site), swimsuits,  fins, and other water confidence products. How cute would your daughter look learning to swim in this mermaid monofin?!

FINIS_fins

FINIS also makes awesome reusable Swim Diapers. They come in two patterned options or three solid colors ( pink, lime green, or royal blue).

FINIS_diapers

The sizing goes from 3-6 months (9-15 lbs.) all the way up to a 4T (38-45 lbs.). I chose the Pink Bubble pattern and got a size Large for my (petite) 18-month old. It fits well, maybe even a bit big, so I’d suggest rounding your child’s weight/age down rather than up when choosing your size since you want it to fit snugly against your child’s skin.  In case that made no sense, here’s a sizing chart to help you out:

FINIS_size chart

According to their website, the inside has a soft woven polyester lining and the outside features UPF 50+ to keep UV rays away from sensitive areas. All materials are Phthalates and PVC free, so you don’t have to worry about any weird chemicals affecting your kids. I took my daughter out in the pool and let her play with her water table in the diaper, and both times it seemed to work just fine. It never ballooned up like a normal diaper would, and it stayed in place and kept her protected. It fit great under a bathing suit but could be worn alone with just a rash guard for a top as well. Naturally, the girl who poops 6 times a day never did poop in the diaper when I needed her to, so I don’t know how well it holds in solid waste, but my guess would be it works just fine. I’ve washed it a few times and the colors have stayed and the elastic is still in tact. The best part is the price: $9.99 for a diaper that you can use all summer long! When you consider that a package of disposable swim diapers is around $7-10, and that maybe only lasts you through one month of summer (at least here in Southern California),  that’s a super fantastic deal! And check out how cute this little bum looks in that diaper:

Yummi Pouch {Giveaway} – CLOSED

I couldn’t agree more that no two children are alike.  I’m finding that is more and more the case with my two boys as they grow up.  One of the most obvious divergent characteristics I’ve been picking up on lately is how ‘dependent’ my oldest seems to be, and how ‘independent’ my youngest is.  Child #1 will find a problem, try to tell me what it is, and wait for me to fix it, while Child #2 will dive right in and solve the issue himself.  Feeding is no different.  #1 preferred to be fed for quite a while, but #2 has been grabbing the spoon out of my hand and attempting to feed himself for several months now.  Since he’s not quite a year old yet, there is a LOT of spilled food, splatters, and nasty floors around here!  I have a few friends who really like this plastic and portable food container called Yummi Pouch for its on-the-go usefulness, and since I was able to review several of these pouches, I found them to be the perfect solution for the super-independent baby who wants to feed himself!

logo

These little pouches are fabulous!  They are reusable and refillable, so a set of six for $14.99 will keep you in business for as long as you’d like.  They are dishwasher safe and can even be put in the freezer.

41ConRZqfeL._SY300_ 5158jEoEFLL._SL1000_ pouch-bottom

They are made of a very sturdy plastic with an intense seal, so you don’t have to worry about any leaking or any explosion out the top.  The pouches expand on the bottom and can hold up to 6oz. To easily expand it, you can blow into the mouth piece with the top sealed or just use your fingers to expand apart.  The pouch can hold probably 3 heaping tablespoons of yogurt, which is just right for the baby.  He LOVES being able to feed himself, and I love that I’m not cleaning up yogurt splatters from him waving a spoon around!  No spoon required!

pd

The toddler is a big fan as well 🙂 He keeps pulling these out of the cupboards and begging me to fill them with food–yogurt, applesauce, anything squishy…

We took a few of these on our big roadtrip earlier this month, and they were great in the car.

link

While I think these pouches are fantastic, what I’m really loving more than anything is this Grass Countertop Drying Rack from Yummi Pouch!

81qQuhRzheL._SL1500_The whole time that “Rocket” was using bottles, I never found a good system for where to place the bottles and tops while they were drying.  They really took over our counter, and since I always needed them accessible, they rarely got put away for long, before I had to pull them out again.  The counters were always soppy, cluttery, and all the plastic really distracted from the clean kitchen I was trying to maintain.

IMG_3041 copy

This grass is the perfect thing for all my assortment of bottles, and SO IDEAL for drying these Yummi Pouches!  When you expand the bottom of the pouches, they can stand up by themselves and generally stay open pretty well by themselves, but I still worry about them drying completely after being washed, so the grass blades on this drying rack keep the pouches open, upside down to drain, and kept in a contained space off my counters!  I’m just so happy to have found a system that works, and I think its kind of fun next to my plants in the kitchen!  It measures a little larger than 9 x 9 inches, and comes in two pieces so you could rinse it off if desired.

IMG_3042 copy

Yummi Pouch has some other way fun and useful “accessories” for your pouches–like useful funnels, markers, and even mustache stickers!  And there is even a Yummi Pouch Kids Boutique with some adorable tutus and leg warmers!

From one mother to another, I will definitely be recommending these to a other mommy friends!  Thanks Yummi Pouch!

TWO winners will each receive a set of 6 Yummi Pouches!

Fortunately for us my friends over at Joovy sent us our newbie in 2013!

I love how they take just such good care of me!  🙂

The high chair we purchased when Banjo was a wee babe has definitely not withstood the test of time.  If someone had told me that the plastic would turn yellow I would have listened.  Also, the seat of our first high chair wasn’t quality looking at all, so I should have known that it wouldn’t hold up.  But the Nook from Joovy?

Now it’s high quality and is quite stylish.  It’s sleek design fits perfectly in our little nook in our kitchen!

This beauty is definitely not just a highchair.  The seat is far too comfy for that!

It’s not just a place to eat either.  It’s also an entertainment chair.

Can you tell that Ruby love it, too?

My favorites about this sweet chair…

Also, how with just the press of a button the tray swings open making my life so much easier when getting Ruby in and out of the chair!

Plus, the leatherette seat cover comes off and can be put in the washing machine!

Yep so much to love about the new Joovy Nook Highchair.  It folds flat for travel:

The doorbell ringing and knowing it is the box of something you’ve been waiting for: magical.  Knowing that in said box is surprise of goodies for your little one, tailored to his age and stage, hand-picked, and full of favorites you and baby are going to love: very magical!

logo@2xJust such a box arrived on our doorstep today!  I honestly had no idea what to expect, and hoped that one or two things inside would be age-appropriate for “Little Brother”, so that we could use it today.  As soon as I saw the Veggie Puffs and cute nested bowls, and thought, “How did they KNOW?!”  The baby is all about eating right now, and can’t seem to get enough of whatever is in sight, and I had just put on my shopping list to go out and get these little puffs.  I was so excited to pull out more treats from this “Fun with Food”-themed box from Citrus Lane! IMG_1742

Within minutes, I had the baby in his high chair ready to try out these cute snack bowls and puffs.  The bowls are the perfect size for everything!  I used some for my toddler’s dinner and was so pleased with their durability, especially after one was dropped onto the floor without a scratch.  Certainly “tough enough to handle anything junior can dish out”.

IMG_1747

We also got a Goodbyn snack container (cheery, lightweight, and perfect for a mother of two who don’t yet know how to share), a Grapes Fruit & Veggie toy by Under the Nile (adorable, organic, and baby-friendly), and a Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer for me!  Thanks Citrus Lane!

When I was a new mom, and anxious about doing everything right, I heard this funny prediction about the kind of mother I could possibly become.

Problem: the baby’s pacifier falls on the ground.

Solution: If you are a first-time mom, you will immediately wash it, scrub it, and sanitize it for 20 minutes in boiling water.  With your second child, you will brush off the pacifier, maybe run it under the sink, and give it back to your baby.  With your third, you will put the dirty pacifier in your own mouth to clean in off and had it over to your child.

But if you had a Pacifier Clip from Z. Daisy, you wouldn’t be having this dilemma in the first place!  Babies sure love their binkies, and we sure love picking them up off the ground every 10 minutes.  Pacifier clips are so necessary!  And Z. Daisy sure carries some cute ones!  Check out these darlings:

These Binkie Bungees have been safely tested and now have a universal attachment so they will work with any pacifier!

“Little Brother” is a binky-lover, and having a Binkie Bungie tethered to his shirt has been a real back-saver when we’re out and about!  I love not having to constantly pick it up off the floor or search for it in the bottom of the diaper bag, and I love that he can play with it and have his pacifier always at his reach.

Thank you Bunkie Bungie for the Henry Gray Eco-Friendly pacifier clip!  We love how soft it is and how it matches nearly everything he wears!  Plus its eco-friendly!

You can win a Binkie Bungee of your very own!  One lucky winner will receive one of their choice!

Babies grow so fast, don’t they?!  I feel like “Little Brother” only wears an outfit 4-5 times before its too small and has to be boxed up again.  Don’t even get me started on shoes!  The toddler is only 2 and we already have a box of shoes that he’s grown out of.

All these shoes that don’t fit anymore take up a lot of shelf space.  This is a very common problem, no?!  A few weeks ago I read in a Parents magazine about these shoes that grow with your child.  Shoes that can be several sizes in one, totally adjustable, and can cover your little one’s toes 3-24 months!

Have you heard of Shupeas?!  They have an answer to this little dilemma!  Shupeas are the most versatile baby shoes in the world!  They offer a customized fitting shoe during this rapid growth period, and are pediatrician and podiatrist recommended.

Now my boys tend to have some fat feet.  A lot of shoes don’t fit, so I end up sewing them shoes that will fit.  However, these Shupeas were so roomy, and because they are completely adjustable in three places, they fit like a glove.  A foot glove :)  Look at all these adjustable points:

Two side velcro tabs and a front pull

You guys, one pair of shoes replaces FOUR standard sizes of shoes.

I also love that these shoes don’t leave elastic marks around chunky but delicate little ankles!

Shupeas are available in 100% soft leather as well as a non-leather, vegan material.

These cuties are sold at www.shupeas.com, Amazon.com, Diapers.com and select boutiques across the US and Canada.

Here’s a Christmas shopping bonus!  Shupeas is offering $5.00 off each order placed via their website until end of 2012. Simply apply the coupon code: 5FREE during checkout.
