Fabness Canvas {Giveaway}–CLOSED

Disclosure: This could be a sponsored post or contain affiliate links (which means I earn a percentage of the sale), but all opinions are strictly my own.

This 4th of July, my husband’s side of the family got together to take some family photos. There were 15 of us, six under the age of 10, and our photographer was also in the pictures, so, needless to say, it was a bit of a circus. As usual, our small family photo was a joke–there wasn’t one picture where we were ALL looking at the camera and smiling–but with some clever photoshopping by my hubby, we were able to craft a perfect (enough) family photo. In looking for ways to show it off, we came across Fabness Canvas and thought a canvas wrap of our photo would be the perfect way to display it!

Fabness Canvas is an easy-to-use online canvas printing site.  The process is simple. First, you pick a canvas style. You can choose one single picture on one canvas, one picture on multiple canvases (SUCH a cool look, in my opinion) or you can pick multiple images on multiple canvases.

style

Then you pick whether you’d like a gallery wrap (where the picture wraps around the sides of the canvas) or a solid color wrap. Next, you upload your picture or choose one from their Art Market. Once your picture is uploaded, you pick your canvas size and edit the picture if need be. You can add a background color, rotate and zoom in on the picture and even add effects like making it black and white, sepia, half-sepia, etc.

choices

Finally, you get to preview your canvas in a series of rooms to see how the size and orientation will look over a couch, crib, bed, etc. Once you’re happy with your canvas, you enter your shipping and payment information and you’re done!

It’s really that simple. Just five steps and totally fool-proof. I think the only annoying thing was that I had to create an account to check out,  but that took all of 30 seconds, so it really wasn’t a big deal. Our canvas arrived in about 10 days nicely wrapped and protected. It came with sawtooth hangers so we could hang it whichever way we wanted. The hangers were easy to attach to the canvas backing and are good quality.

My hubby and I are so pleased with our canvas! It looks great, feels great, and even held up under my 2-year-old (accidentally) stepping on it! The canvas is thick and the print quality looks superb. For the quality of print you get and the customization options, the prices are more than fair, and the process was just SO EASY!  These would make great gifts for family and friends, and they’re always running deals on their Facebook page, so connect with them and get a deal (and a head start) on your holiday shopping! Do you know a kiddo who likes music?  I think it’s a given that ALL kiddos like music.  (Okay pretty much all adults like music, too.)  At a young age children even quickly identify with their favorite songs.  One of Banjo’s is “Popcorn Popping”:

I looked out the window, and what did I see?
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!
Spring had brought me such a nice surprise,
Blossoms popping right before my eyes.
I could take an armful and make a treat,
A popcorn ball that would smell so sweet.
It wasn’t really so, but it seemed to be
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree.
This little number has the cutest actions and Ruby just beams now whenever we sing it!  So I think it’s quickly becoming one of her favorites, too.  🙂  “Popcorn Popping” is actually the reason for my discovery of PopRocks Design and I’m super glad that I made the discovery.  I was on the hunt for a baby gift that would symbolize the popcorn song and I found it:

Cryoow! {Giveaway} – CLOSED

I, sadly, am not a very sentimental person.  I don’t keep the ticket stubs from each play or movie that my husband and I have attended, I am horrible about taking pictures and even worse about printing them to hang on our walls, and I just realized the other day that I have somehow misplaced my oldest son’s ultrasound picture.  (It’s somewhere safe; I’m sure of it!)

So, you can imagine how I feel about all of the artwork that comes home with my son from preschool three times a week.  I have kept some of my favorites and have taken pictures of almost all of them in an attempt to make one of those incredibly cute photo books that features all of your child’s artwork, but there’s no way I’m planning to hang on to every single piece that comes through our door.

CryOOw! Logo R

Cryoow! is one of the best ways I’ve seen to turn your child’s artwork into something tangible that can be loved forever!  Cryoow! creates a doll from artwork, and you can submit drawings of everything from people to animals to mythical creatures.  Each doll is hand-crafted, hand-stitched, and a guaranteed high quality creation for your child.  The detail put into each doll is almost identical to the drawing.  Here are some great examples:

Cryoow! is based out of Bali, and the company uses a way to create jobs for parents to work out of their homes and still make a good wage to support their families.  Their website explains, “Our workshop is NOT one of these ‘sweat and tears factories’ like you might know from Indonesia, China, or other Asian countries.  Our tailors are all well-trained and work either in our own home or at their private houses.  [The] children can stay and play with their parents while they work.  We do not pay them the lowest possible salary but make [sure] they can support their family rightfully and live a dignified life.”

We were given the opportunity to review a Cryoow! doll, and my son created this work of art (complete with a pig nose that he was incredibly proud of!) and had it made into a Cryoow! doll:

DSCF4049

The detail was astounding!  You can see the different toes that he drew on the bottom, and the hands each contain fingers that look just like the ones he created in his drawing.  One leg is longer than the other, and the smile is a little lopsided — just the way he wanted!  The process was fun to do together, the customer service was incredible, and the outcome is top-notch.

Dandy readers will have the chance to win one of THREE Cryoow! dolls created from your own artwork– enter below to win!

I like to think of myself as an artist, though certainly an amateur.  I at least can genuinely appreciate quality artwork and recognize the time and talent that goes into certain pieces.  I get excited about art museums and art exhibits, and I think art in general has a special way of communicating and reaching out and expressing messages and words.  In particular, I am fascinated by this beautiful collection of artwork at Society 6, which is created by thousands of artists from around the world!  Artists can partner with Society 6 and are able to sell their artwork as quality art prints, iPhone cases, t-shirts, stretched canvases, and laptop skins!

Basically artists post their artwork, and Society 6 produces and ships their products.  And what a collection!!

I spend literally over an hour browsing through all the artwork, trying to decide what laptop skin to choose for Patty II!  Here were some of my favorites:

Ultimately, I went with a seamstress favorite:

Go check out the incredible art work at Society 6 and pick out something beautiful, symbolic, or expressive for your own home!
