Well, winter has finally hit Boston. There is nothing like a New England Autumn in all its leafy splendor. October, November, and most of December were simply glorious in color and temperature, but yesterday was the first snowfall. The sign of the beginning of the next six months of winter, where the sun goes down at 3:30pm and you avoid going outside at all costs. All I wanted to tackle yesterday was a trip to the gym and a visit to the post office to ship some Christmas presents. With two boys in tow and slush up to my ankles, I decided that I will never ever leave the house without decent snowboots until April. Ya, I thought Fall was boot season, but this is BOOT season.
So what do you where under your boots, might I ask? When you wear boots with tights or leggings, is that enough? If you’re like me, you might wear extra socks, but they don’t always allow my feet to breathe well, and they add a lot of bulk inside my boots. Well, have you heard of Bootights? They’re tights for boots, and what makes them different is what you can’t see from here: the attached performance sock at the foot of the durable tights that is made of moisture-wicking fibers to keep feet cool and dry.
I reviewed a pair of Essentials 201 Ankle in Heather. See, the ankle sock is attached so you only have to put on one thing. In a pair of boots, no one sees the sock, and my feet are cozy and comfy inside.
Of course, the sock is comfortable, but so are the rest of the tights. Nice control, support, and texture. They are thick enough to be warm, but they don’t add bulk to your legs and after wearing them several times, there is no hint of unthreading or snagging.
This company claims that these are the only tights designed especially for boots, and these socks and tights are designed by Shelby Mason, 100% made in the USA. They sell a variety of colors, styles, and designs, as well as Darby’s (which are specifically socks and not tights) as well as Sport style.
