WOOLZIES Dryer Balls {Giveaway} – CLOSED

We’ve had our washer and dryer set for about six years now, and we haven’t had any problems with them before.  (I until I jinx myself by writing this post, of course…)  The past few months, though, we’ve noticed that it takes a significant longer time to dry our clothes than it used to — we rarely can take a load out after only 60 minutes without having to stick everything back in to dry longer.  We’ve tried lots of different things to troubleshoot and have come to the conclusion that it’s just wearing out.  We just pray that it’ll last for one more year so that we don’t have to buy a new dryer before we head overseas…  🙁

The other day, though, I came across WOOLZIES Dryer Balls and wondered if they could help our clothes and towels dry more quickly.  An answer on the website states that “…because WOOLZIES bounce around in your dryer, they naturally separate and create space between your laundry, thereby allowing the hot dryer air to circulate better and subsequently cutting down on drying time by about 25% in large loads and as much as 35-40% in small loads. This of course saves both time and money for you and energy for the environment.”

I was actually throwing in a load of towels when I received this package, so I was able to toss all six into the dryer and try them out immediately.  The towels were not completely dry about the 60 minutes, but I only had to dry them for another 20-30 minutes, rather than the extra 60 that I had been doing previously.

And, another bonus is that I didn’t have to use a dryer sheet!  We’ve had quite the static electricity build-up lately (which is driving my poor four-year-old CRAZY!), but I didn’t notice any static on any of the towels as I pulled them out of the dryer.  While I’ll admit that I’m not the most green or earth-conscientious person, I do love when natural products work better.

“Regular fabric softeners, both in liquid and sheet form, contain numerous harsh chemicals which are toxic to the environment and even more dangerous to many people who have serious allergic reactions to them. The elderly, ailing and small children can suffer from a variety of negative symptoms which are really just allergic reactions to the harsh chemicals contained in these commercial fabric softening products.”

And, the best part?  They’re guaranteed to last for 1,000 loads!!  I love having them in my dryer all the time and not having to remember to toss in fabric softener or dryer sheets for my loads.
