Our weather here on the East coast has ranged from warm days in short-sleeved shirts and shorts at the park to frigid temperature with ice and harsh winds.  I have to admit that every time I see warmer weather in the forecast, I cringe just a little.  I LOVE the cold weather (though I’m not a fan of living in the snow) because I love wearing sweater, snuggling under a blanket, and especially drinking hot chocolate.

Whittard is a U.K.-based store specializing in hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and other accessories and equipment related to these drinks.  The packaging is classy, and these items would be perfect gifts for friends and loved ones.

How fun to have a package arrive internationally with three choices of hot chocolate that we’ve never tried (or even imagined!) before. We immediately whipped out our Cocomotion and set out to sampling our flavors. We enjoyed the smooth taste of the Luxury White Hot Chocolate and the tangy flavor in the Orange Hot Chocolate, and we were surprised to find that our favorite flavor of the three was the Lemon Meringue White Hot Chocolate (no longer available!).

In the About Us section on the Whittard website, it explains, “Our story began in 1886 when Walter Whittard opened his first tea and coffee store on London’s Fleet Street.  His philosophy was to always ‘Buy The Best’, sourcing the highest quality teas and coffees from around the world and blending them to his customers’ specifications.  Today – over 125 years later – we still remain true to Walter’s founding philosophy. From one little shop on Fleet Street we continue to grow, sharing our innovative range and specialist knowledge across our UK stores, overseas and online.”

• We have 130 varieties of tea, and still blend our own teas and infusions, just as Walter did.

• We are one of the few places that will grind freshly roasted coffee beans to your individual tastes.

• We have over 18 varieties of luxurious hot chocolate, tempting chocolate lovers with everything from White Chocolate and Strawberry to Chilli.

• We believe that preparation and serving are all part of the enjoyment. So we sell specialist china, equipment and glassware alongside our drinks.

What a fun surprise this could be for a mother-daughter tea party, a girls’ night out, a bridal or baby shower, or a cold night at home snuggled under the blanket.  If you’re looking for high-quality hot chocolate in a variety of flavors, I can tell you from experience that Whittard is the place to shop.  Enjoy and stay warm!
