Soccer Boy

Banjo is becoming quite the little soccer pro.  Okay, okay…  So he’s not really a pro yet.  I’m just being a proud momma.  🙂   But he’s definitely learning how to play and having a lot of fun out there.  Which, in my opinion, is the most important thing!  Both Audi and I were athletes in high school, so we do like sports.  However, we aren’t the type of parents to put a lot of pressure on our kid to go out there and be the next David Beckham.  If Banjo excels in a given sport then that’s fine.  If it’s not his thing then that’s fine too.  Above everything else we want him to learn the fundamentals of the sport, good sportsmanship, what it’s like to be part of a team, and to have fun doing it!  This introduction to soccer is doing just that for our little guy.  He and his team mates are so adorable out on the field running back and forth.  Not really always knowing which direction they are supposed to go in (they are 4 and 5 year olds), but determined to get the ball no matter what!  In fact they often remind me of a gaggle of geese out on the field.  The ball is kicked and they all take off trailing after it.  It’s really cute.  Just like our little soccer boy.  🙂

Good Game

Yesterday was Banjo’s very first ever soccer game:

He did good!

Yesterday was Ruby’s very first ever puff:

Learning to feed yourself is hard, so when you get it in then it’s okay to be just a little bit smug.
