Packages from my online Christmas shopping began arriving on my doorstop last week:

Of course a package from Zulily was delivered at my house, because I’ve been doing A LOT of shopping on Zulily!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to shop online.  It’s the best way to find a bargain.  Everything at Zulily is a bargain, so it’s my go to place for holiday shopping.  I literally check in every day to see what the latest deals are.  So far we have acquired some building blocks for Banjo on Zulily at around 80% off retail.  This week I’ll There are just so many things at major percentages off that it’s sooooo very difficult to decide just what to get her!  Maybe this adorable shopping cart:

There are so many options right now.  I’ll have to check in tomorrow see what the new items are for children at Zulily!  Not shopping for kiddos?  Well, Zulily has way more than just stuff for kids.  I actually bought myself a wool peacoat from there a couple of weeks ago.  It’s gorgeous!  And the price?  Amazing.  $29.  That’s right… only $29!!!

Secret Santa

This is a sponsored post, I am a Kmart Layaway blogger, though all opinions are my own.

As a youth one of my most favorite holiday activities revolved around being Secret Santa.  Every year our church youth group would select a family in need to purchase gifts for.  That moment of "ding dong ditch" (dropping the gifts on the porch, ringing the doorbell, and running off into the night) was one of exhilaration and happiness.  It was heart warming peering around from behind a car or tree to witness the wonderment and joy when the children of the home discovered what was on the doorstep.  These are cherished memories of my youth that I was reminded of during the holidays last year.  There were news stories popping up almost daily about the "Layaway Angels" and their random acts of goodwill.  If you are unfamiliar with the stories here's the gist:  Individuals were entering Kmart stores all across the country and taking Secret Santa to a whole new level.  Acting anonymously the angel would pay off the remaining balance on holiday gifts that would ordinarily have ended up back on the shelves.  This was an act of charity that is rarely heard of and it was truly inspiring.  Hearing of this generousity made me want to be a better person, more giving, and recapture that Secret Santa of holiday's past.     

This year Kmart is getting into the spirit of giving.  Between now and November 17th when you place your purchases on layaway you will be entered to win big.  Each week Kmart will be pay off the remaining balance for lucky shoppers all across the country.  One giveaway winner per store per week every week to be exact!  That's huge!  It's all part of the Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway.

More than just one day!

Can you believe it’s already July???  We will be celebrating Independence Day very shortly.  So, since Father’s Day is in June then it has definitely come and gone.  But don’t you think that dads deserve more than just one day of recognition?  Of course I think that about Mother’s Day, too.  😉  Seriously though.  Parents do so much for their children.  They love and support their families.  They listen.  They teach us.  They are there to give guidance, but also know when to step back and let us (the children) learn.  They work hard to provide for the needs of the family.  Definitely deserving of more than just one day to celebrate!  Definitely.

I have a really fabulous father.  Here we are when I was just a small tike:

Doesn’t he look like a Beatle?  Must have something to do with the English genetics.  Or just the longer hairstyle that men were sporting in the 70’s.  🙂

My father has always been a great provider and friend.  He worked hard to make sure my brother and I had everything we ever wanted.  He’s talented in his line of work.  Even knows a great deal about everything else from fixing cars, building, electrical wiring.  so much and provide support.  What do you get for the guy who basically has everything (because he works hard for it), but also really likes to work in his garage at home?  And likes to build and fix things around the house?  My dad’s kinda place would be where he could get industrial steel and metal supplies.  That place can be conveniently found online at the Industrial Metal Supply Co.  At the Industrial Metal Supply Co. you can find tools and other supplies that are perfect for the handyman.  Anything from there would make a great belated Father’s Day gift (or anytime kinda gift) for my dad!  How about for your’s?
