{Giveaway} My Growing Season ***ENDED***

It’s becoming more and more difficult to keep Banjo entertained during church.  After all… Banjo is 3 years old!  He doesn’t like to sit still or stay quiet, so of course the 1st hour on Sunday is difficult for us.  He goes to nursery (singing time, play time, lesson) for the 2nd and 3rd hours, so he’s someone else’s problem then.  :)    I’m only joking about him being a problem.  He really is a good kid.  Just a kid.  I often find myself looking around during that 1st hour of church and see that others are struggling with their children too.  So fortunately it’s not just Banjo making all the noise!  :)   One thing that I’ve found to be particularly effective is his “My Quiet Book.  We received this from My Growing Season quite awhile ago and it’s awesome!  He loves to take the items out of the pockets, etc. We’ve even found that children sitting in the pew in front of us like to turn around to see his cool book.  ;)    Recently My Growing Season sent us the “Let’s Count 123″ quiet book and it’s another hit with Banjo!

He really likes the above pages the best!

There are so many fun quiet books to choose from, but what else does My Growing Season carry you may ask?  Well, they also have the CUTEST charts:

and

holiday advent calendars:

I attempted to make a Christmas advent calendar last year and the materials are still in the closet upstairs in my craft room!  I’m thinking I need to order this one from My Growing Season:)

There’s even a variety of soft toys like these adorable animal finger puppets:

Ready to find out what’s being given away this week from My Growing Season???  One very lucky winner is going to get to pick out their very own quiet book!  Yep it’s winner’s choice of which one!

I’m a puzzle kind of gal.  It’s just so relaxing to sit and work on them.  I may not be very good at them, but I like working on them!  I’m just not very spatially skillful.  ;)     My son on the other hand has the spatial skills!  He loves puzzles and I love the fact that he loves them.  They can keep him occupied for hours and it’s something fun we can do together as a family.  Plus, it helps to develop logic and problem solving for his little mind!  Recently this fabulous company, Twin Sisters Productions, sent me this way fun puzzle for the little guy:

It’s seriously ADORABLE!  The pieces are jumbo size perfect for his little hands to manuvere.  And it’s over 3 feet long making it a really cool floor puzzle!  But what’s more is it came with a CD of music and an activity book.  Both are dedicated to teaching about what to do in an emergency and the steps for dialing ’911′.  Yep it’s fun, musical, and educational!

In fact all of the items carried by Twin Sisters combine fun, music, and education.  How fun would this US Map floor puzzle be?

Board Book Albums ***ENDED***

We all know that babies and small children are drawn to certain things.  They like books.  They like items that are tangibly friendly to their little hands.  Probably the main reason for board books being so popular amongst our littlest of friends.  Babies also love faces!  They like to look at human faces in person and in pictures.  This is proven research that I actually spent hour upon hour learning about in college.  I won’t bore you with all the research mumbo jumbo.   Just trust me on this one.  :)     Knowing this information… Wouldn’t a baby simply love to look at a photo album with pictures of loved ones in it?  Of course they would!  Now take your regular, run of the mill kind of photo album…  Kind of flimsy.  How about one constructed to be more durable?  Maybe like a board book?  PERFECT!

After all, babies love board books and they are perfect for those little hands!  Board Book Albums recently sent me a Blue Take Your Pix album for the Banjo.  He’s quite impressed!  Each page has a notch in it.  Making it even easier for his little hands to turn the pages!

But these great board books aren’t just for babies and small children.

With the initial design of these photo albums you can go from a look of simplicity to one of uniqueness by adding your own decorations to alter the image of the book itself.  How cute are these ideas?

With Board Book Albums the possibilities are endless!  Would you love to own one of these cool albums from Board Book Albums?  Well, one lucky person is going to win just that and it’s winner’s choice of which style!

Picaboo ***ENDED***

Since I’m not that artsy of a person I’m a huge fan of photo books. You know the ones where you just upload your pictures and all the work is virtually done for you? It’s just soooo easy! A few years ago I experienced photo book making first hand and fell in love with it.  Background info:  My husband grew up on this street in Salt Lake City where each house would display these paintings in their yard at Christmas time. Each painting depicted a scene from the Christmas story with a corresponding biblical scripture. It’s truly a fabulous tradition. Over the years these signs have become very worn from the elements. A few years back I took my camera and took pictures of each one. Then without my husband knowing I had them put in a photo book, because let’s face it… I’m not a very good scrapbooker!  At any rate it made the perfect gift and one that we will cherish in our family for years to come.

At Picaboo I recently created another photo book of our trip earlier this year to Disney World.  I was able to decide on the number of pages and placement of pictures on each page.

Also, I picked out this fabulous looking red croc leather cover!

The application to start creating on Picaboo is so easy to install and use.

With Picaboo you can create simply great looking photo books and is scrapbooking is made easy!

This is a great giveaway, because the winner is going to receive a $50 gift certificate to use at Picaboo!

Bella’s Books ***ENDED***

One of my prized posessions as a child was my scrap book. Now this was pre the whole scrapbooking rage! :) Mine didn’t have any of the fancy cut-outs and all that jazz. It was just a simple scrap book that contained all my paper type treasures. You know the items: Post cards, report cards, Presidential fitness awards (you know you kept your’s too), the occassional picture, newspaper clippings, etc. Just a bunch of randomness really. But it was MY randomness! I’m sure that I would have loved if the cover that housed my special keepsakes was all decorative like this:

That’s just one of the many decorative options found at Bella’s Books. Many are ready made like these:

Bella’s Books also allows you to go custom!

With Bella’s Books you are able to create a custom journal or memory book.

First you pick a book style, size, and color:
There are lots of options to choose from!
Then you select a theme and title for your custom book.

So fun!

Or this:

How about this one that’s perfect for graduation day?

Laurie (L.C.) Lewis ***ENDED***

I’m half way through reading the book, “Dark Sky At Dawn” by Laurie (L.C.) Lewis.  It’s the first book in her “Free Men And Dreamers” series and it’s awesome!  I just love the author’s portrayal of historical fiction and her writing style.   I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say that it’s about fictional plantation owners in the South at the start of the War of 1812; their lives, families, and secrets…with some romance thrown in!  Now I do have a little confession to make.  I bought the book back around the December holidays, started reading it in February, and I’m still reading it!  Why the hold up?  Enter the 2 year-old in my midst!  What I wouldn’t give for a day that I could just read ALL DAY LONG!  Those days are no longer.  However, believe me when I say that the first book in the series “Free Men and Dreamers” is a great one!  I’m looking forward to reading many more of her books.  When will I finish all of them?  How about a year from now when my little boy starts preschool!  Then I will be taking some all day reading days.  I think after surviving the toddler years I’ll deserve it.  :)

Laurie’s latest novel, “Awakening Avery“, hit the shelves on April 3rd.

I have no doubt that it’s sure to be her next bestseller!  To celebrate it’s launch there’s actually a huge Blog Tour Promotion going on right now!  Until June 13th you can enter to win some fabulous prizes.  So enter away!

On a side note…I just want to say thank you to Laurie for providing me with an intriguing read to escape with in my down time.  :)

And the giveaway is…

The winner of this giveaway is going to receive an autographed copy of “Awakening Avery,” a book mark, and a copy of Anne Bradshaw’s “Famous Family Nights.”  Now that one great literary giveaway package!
