Delta Children’s Products {Review}

We don’t buy our kids a lot of toys. We don’t need to, because we have enough Grandmas and Aunties who do that for them! My daughter’s birthday was in October and my son’s was in December, so by the time Christmas had come and gone it felt like the quantity of things in my kids’ rooms had expanded by 1,000! Something had to be done. We had to contain the mess!

Delta Children’s Products has been creating children’s furniture, baby gear, decor, and storage solutions since 1967. They strive to produce children’s furniture for families who seek stylish design, quality, safety and affordability. A tall order to fill, but they manage to do it well. They offer hundreds of products, from cribs to toddler beds, changing tables to dressers, strollers, play yards and organizational products. Of course, we were the most interested in the organizational section and settled on a toy chest we knew our daughter would go crazy for!

box

We received the Princess Wooden Toy Box to review. It came packaged in a thin box that was easy to carry in the house and unpack. All of the parts were easy to find and the directions were clear and easy to read (not that my husband needed them, of course…).

Assembly was fairly easy, though my hubby did have to make an emergency trip to Home Depot for more screws because he says the ones the toy box came with were “not the best quality” and they stripped easily, making them unusable. This was after he’d put the first side on the wrong side then had to remove it and put it on the other side, thus having to screw and unscrew the (not-the-greatest-quality) screws more than intended. Moral of the story? Read the instructions carefully so you don’t have to re-do anything and potentially strip your screws ;)

But, minus the Home Depot run, it only took about an hour to assemble the toy box. The wood is thick and good quality, and the safety hinge on the lid is strong, so I don’t worry about the lid falling and smashing my little ones’ fingers. Thanks to this nifty toy box, we were able to take this completely uncontained mess…

About Valerie

I love to run, sing, dance, read and goof around with my adorable hubby, "Kirk." My two kids definitely keep me on my toes, but there's nothing else I'd rather be doing than be at home learning, playing, laughing (and sometimes crying) right along with them.
