PB Crave {Giveaway} – CLOSED

This giveaway is in honor of my mother!  Oh how I love her!  She is exactly the right mom for me and she has taught me what is truly important in life.  I want to emulate her in so many ways, and be just that kind of mother to my kids.

If you know my mom well, you know about her passion for peanut butter :) She literally has a peanut butter sandwich for lunch every single day of the week.  When she’s pregnant, she only craves peanut butter, and all of us kids are sure that our love for peanut butter comes from those nine months of a heavy pb diet.  If there was anyone who could lend their critique when peanut butter is involved, it would be my mom!  I was so excited to have her visiting me for a week while we had this delicious pack of peanut butters from PB Crave to consume!

Consume we did.  It was remarking how much peanut butter we downed in a single week.  It was just so good.  I haven’t tried many natural peanut butters, and these have convinced me to switch.  It probably didn’t help that we had just gone apple picking and had a heaping bag of freshly picked New England apples to dip.  Here’s the line up:

COCO BANANAS – Delicious.  I think banana-flavored foods can easily become overpowered with banana, but this has a good hint of banana, esp. in the aftertaste.  We decided that this tastes best not on bananas, but on other foods where the banana in the peanut butter can be detected and not masked by actual banana.  Tried it on bread: awesome.

COOKIE NOOKIE – This one was a crowd favorite.  By the title, my husband said, “I’m a fan of this already”, and it didn’t disappoint.  It seems a little thicker in texture and smells like cookie dough.  It tastes like nutella!  Its really like a dessert, and no jelly needed.  Don’t waste this in a recipe–eat it plain or on something without a lot of strong flavor so that you can taste all the cookie goodness!

RAZZLE DAZZLE – This was my mom’s favorite.  It is so good with the raspberry flavor that you don’t need to add jelly.  We decided that we could taste the added ingredient (raspberry) better than any of the other jars.  Fruity, creamy, rich, yum yum yum.

CHOCO CHOCO – This one was not as chocolately as we thought it would be (and actually the “Cookie Nookie” tasted more chocolately to us), but it has a great chocolate aftertaste.  Still delicious, and still consumed just as quickly as the others :)
Now wouldn’t you love to try these yourself?!

  6. Meg Fleshman says:

Looks tasty, but not sure if I’d advertise it as a natural peanut butter. Sure, it doesn’t have partially hydrogenated oils, but it does contain maltodextrin and soy lecithin, which are made from corn (in the US) and soy, respectively, which are two of the foremost gmo crops, and gmo free is not listed on their website. Three of the four contain “natural flavor” (or “natural raspberry flavor”), which is misleading. To be considered natural flavor, it just has to be from a natural source (plants, minerals, meat, seafood, dairy, etc), however they are still processed chemically, and the actual flavor might not be derived from that ingredient at all–as in, the “natural flavor” in the banana pb doesn’t necessarily have to be from bananas. In fact some “natural flavors” are derived from bugs!. They also contain palm oil in an effort to create the same creamy, unseparated texture that hydrogenated oils normally do, but palm oil is not only just as unhealthy (even the USDA says its not a healthy substitute for hydrogenated oils) but its production is also very environmentally detrimental. I also noticed that the second ingredient in every single jar is sugar–in fact the sugar per serving (as if we ever eat just one serving haha) is 1/5-1/6 of a woman’s daily intake! Some people might think all of this doesn’t matter, but if I’m looking for a natural peanut butter, the only things that should be in it are peanuts, maybe salt, and maybe honey for sweetening. We’ve also bought chocolate pb thats just peanuts ground with chocolate, salt, and honey–that’s it. Now I’m not saying no one should eat this–if you like it, great! I might even cheat on our eating style with that razzle dazzle. But we need to be aware of labels and what they actually mean, because if you’re looking for a natural peanut butter, well this product isn’t really where you’re going to find it. :)

  7. I think my favorite would be chocolate peanut butter banana. This would make my sandwich so much easier. Just this last sunday I had pb on on side, nutella on the other and bananas in between.
