Where I Am…

Have you been wondering where I disappeared to?  Well, I figured that it was a good week to have a baby.  So I did just that!  Actually baby girl decided that it was better to be born in 2011 than in 2012 and joined our family a month early.  :)  Here I had been busy gathering guest bloggers to appear during my maternity leave the end of January and those plans were interrupted!  Stay tuned, because I’m sure some of the guests will still want to be featured in the upcoming weeks.  Also, there’s going to be a new giveaway that starts on Monday, so don’t miss out!

Our little ”Ruby” (as she will be known and referred to on the Dandy) was born on December 27th at 7:30pm weighing in at 6 lbs 14 oz and 18 1/2 inches long.  After a short stint in the NICU she was able to come home on the day that I was released from the hospital.  We feel so incredibly blessed and love this little lady so much already!

Happy New Year!

3 days! Is your shopping done???

Barnes & NobleLast-minute gift: $21 for both a Barnes & Noble eGift Card and a Restaurant.com Gift Card + $10 in Save Rewards just for you!

Guess what?  There’s only 3 full shopping days left before Christmas!  Are you finished.  We are this close to being done…  I’m sending the audiologist man for the remaining bits.  I technically haven’t spent longer than about 15 minutes in a store this holiday shopping season.  Being pregnant makes me want to avoid the hustle and bustle like the plague.  So how did I shop?  Online!  I seriously bought just about everything online this year.  Let’s face it.  If I did step foot in a store then I would just look up the price of an item on my phone and find it cheaper online anyway.  So why go into the store in the first place?  Sorry stores.  This tough economy is just a little too tough on my pocketbook and we have a baby coming in (hopefully) less than 30 days!  I’m sure the economy is tough on the stores, too.  But I just can’t resist a good bargain.  Especially when it’s 58% off.  And…  it involves two of my favorite things:  Books and Eating.

Right now for just $21 you will receive a $15 Barnes & Noble eGift Card and a $50 Restaurant.com Gift Card.

Plus…

$10 in Save Rewards to spend at Eversave!

All for only $21!

What makes this deal even better is it’s an instant gift!  No need to run out to the mall for that last minute gift.  You just print out the voucher and give it to that person on your list that you haven’t gotten a gift for yet!  :)
You can get this dandy deal from now until Dec. 25th at 11:59pm.

GO HERE to get it before it’s gone!

Holiday Gift Idea #5: EZ SOX

Can you say way dandy stocking stuffer?

According to Banjo’s preschool he needs to work on his independence.  But they aren’t talking the forward thinking/would rather do his own thing type of independence.  He has that one down!  They mean he needs to work on putting his coat on by himself, etc.  That etc. also  encompasses putting his socks on by himself.  At first it was a bit of a devastating blow.  I mean he’s only 3 and 1/2!  Being that I’m a stay-at-home mom he hasn’t had a lot of structure and I just might be a little more inclined to do things for him…  But then I thought about it rationally and it probably is time for him to learn to put his coat and socks on by himself.

Fortunately EZ SOX sent me a pair of socks in the nick of time!  They sent a pair of their teddy bear socks to be exact:

Learning to put on socks can be a major struggle for toddlers.  Which side faces up?  How do you put them on and pull them up at the same time?  With EZ SOX kiddos can learn super quick!  First they are prompted to put in on with the animal is facing upwards.  Once their toes are in they can easily grasp the loops on either side and pull the socks the rest of the way on and up!  So very simple and it’s a concept that Banjo understands.  Think of it as training socks!

Plus…

Check out these different style 2 packs for your ‘lil cuties:

EZ SOX also has them in solids!

It’s a cute, cute video!

Holiday Gift Idea #4: KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron

My family and friends…okay basically anyone who knows me knows that if I’m wearing my hair down then it has been flat ironed.  It’s true.  For starters I have super thick hair.  Top that with some really strange curl going on and you have a crazy head of hair!  My hair is nowhere near straight and not curly enough to have the perfect ringlets.  Lets face it I’m probably not alone on this.  Random pieces of straight with really curly pieces.  You get the idea.  So everyone knows that the perfect holiday gift for me would be ANYTHING to make my hair straighter!  Which translates into anything sold by Flat Iron Experts.  Recently they sent me this beauty:

It heats up super fast and leaves the hair super shiny!  Plus, it’s the perfect holiday color with those red ceramic plates!  :)  Flat Iron Experts also has loads of other tourmaline flat irons to choose from.  Also, curling wands which are all the rage right now…

I’m thinking I need that to use after I flat iron to get the trendy look!

Holiday Gift Idea #3: Obol

What do you get for that person on your holiday list who you think already has EVERYTHING?  An Obol!  What is that you may ask?  Well, for starters it has revolutionized breakfast cereal.

I for one cannot stand soggy cereal.  Honestly…it makes me gag.  Who’s with me on this???  I believe that I’m not alone in this.  EVERYONE hates soggy cereal.  My disgust is to the point that I refuse to finish the entire serving, because it’s not worth the sogginess.  With the Obol you don’t have to waste your cereal!  It has this unique design that keeps your cereal and milk separate.  The Obol is even perfect for the kiddos:

Banjo inherited my aversion to soggy cereal!

There are also lots of other great uses for the Obol:

Get your own Obol HERE.  Available in colors:  White, Lime, Tangerine, Cranberry, Berry Blue, and Watermelon (pink).

{Giveaway} Old Barn Rescue Company ***ENDED***

Only six weeks (or somewhere there abouts) until she makes her grand entrance!  Wow.  Where does the time go?  I’m somewhat hoping for 4 weeks left, but at the same time we need more time to get everything ready!  It has been quite the dilemma around here getting baby girl’s room finished.  We decided a while ago to do a bird theme with yellow and grey colors.  Audiologist man has been busy painting away.  Two accent walls are yellow and two are white.  That’s what I “thought” I wanted, but now I’m thinking the walls would look better all in yellow.  Unfortunately audiologist man isn’t happy with that thought, because 1.) he already bought tons of the white paint AND 2.) it’s already painted!   I totally see his reasoning and agree with him.  After all I was being totally irrational, right?  But at the same time…  I felt like the world was about to end.  So, what’s an overly emotional and hormonal pregnant gal to do?  Ask her friend’s decorating advice of course!  (She’s a fantastic decorator!)  Her answer?  Get some cute bird wall vinyl decals in yellow and grey to use on the white walls!  Isn’t that an awesome idea?  Plus, it merges all of the colors of the room!  So the hunt began and here is what I found:

All in yellow and grey of course.  Don’t you LOVE LOVE LOVE it???  :)   I know that you are asking where in the world did I find such cuteness???  Well, the answer is Old Barn Rescue Company.

This shop carries some really unique wall vinyl!  Not looking for birds to decorate a nursery?  Well, well, well…

There’s something for every room and color scheme at Old Barn Rescue Company!  Let’s take a gander shall we?

For starters they have the most amazing inspirational quotes:

Then I think the design graphics are gorgeous:
